The way Trudeau has developed has been surprisingly good. If Protz develops as well as Trudeau, it will be a great get. At this points its a numbers game and it looks unlikely that he will make the team in Montreal, but there seems to be a future in the NHL for him in 2 or 3 years of development for Trudeau. No guarantee as this is a tough league to crack for players who are not exceptional, but Trudeau has a real shot.

I think we are now getting to the point now where I have to bow out from voting.

I used to reach this point alot earlier in previous years.

I wonder if we'll be able get anything for Trudeau in a trade when he is no longer waiver exempt.

Maybe future consideration
Well all and prospect trades happen all the time. So the answer to my question is clearly yes. It's just whether Hughes encounters a market with anything he find in it.

MB was able get Kulak for I think Taorpina (sp?) and Valiev? And then of course Hughes was able to turn Kulak into a 2nd, and then that 2nd into Lane Hutson.

I saw many of Laval’s games last year which gave me an opportunity to watch Trudeau play. And aside from the frequent, annoyingly sophomoric hazing he received because of his last name, this kid often displayed a more dynamic level of play than the much higher rated Mailloux. Will he make the NHL? If he, like most AHL players, is able to take the next developmental step, Trudeau will play, and play effectively, in the NHL whether for the Canadiens or some other team.
