Says the guy that probably has nonstop hiphop on his playlist, which degrade women and races every 2nd word... I can see it now.

Now you're fighting imaginary windmills. You pull out another fallacy, this time a false equivalency. Let's say I listen to rap. It's an entirely different context because if I choose, as a well-informed, paying adult, to consume musical, cinematic, etc. content made for a mature public. Id be oblivous not to expect harsh themes and coarse language. Doesnt apply to HFBoards where minors can acceed the website and take part in the discussion. It's a bad example to give to kids and just plain inappropriate.

Add to that the misconception that a society that condemns senseless violence is somewhat more feminine. You do know some pretty manly badasses have advocated for civility?

Im not even sure what guys like you are arguing for, the right to be rude? Really? Lmao.

It's a typical, knee-jerk suspension that the NHL hands out whenever an incident "looks bad" or has a bad result. They never punish intent, only the result.

The Bertuzzi incident is a case in point. Had Moore not been injured, Bertuzzi would have been given a few games and the whole thing would have been long since forgotten. But because the outcome was bad, the league threw the book at him. The fact of the matter is that Bertuzzi pretty much said that he was going to do something and his attack was completely premeditated. So even if Moore had escaped unharmed Bertuzzi still should have been given a harsh suspension. But we all know that had he not injured Moore, he'd have received next to nothing because the only thing the NHL ultimately cares about is public perception. Optics. It's never about actually doing something about players who go out intending to injure their opponents. If the intent is there, the punishment should be the same whether the action results in injury or not. But it never happens.

Bertuzzi did get suspended and deservedly so - that was horrible and after Moore had already fought in the game - so ridiculous of Bertuzzi. Plus the original hit wasn't even so bad - I think it was all Marc Crawford's fault stirring up trouble with his "where's the respect?" speech after the Moore hit. And then his player ends Moore's career. Hey Marc Crawford, where's the respect? Horrible.

Anyway, not a very intelligent play by Domi. He was probably nervous and wanted to make something happen but that was the wrong thing to make happen.

This is the absolute worst first impression he could have made on me we gave up a very promising C with SKILL for another winger....to play Centre....again

Another bad future trend with Domi being undersized and also a **** disturber is he will likely end up having concussion and injury problems a la Shaw

If this is how he's going play for us he will also make our undersized roster targets for payback stuff

They are going to get concussions anyways when 2/3 of the players in the NHL have elbows that will hit their heads on “clean” hits. Who are you f***ing trying to fool? Max was slashed unhindered and had enough. No wonder our players skate away as their teammates are destroyed by dirty hits. This includes hits to price as well.
In any case, Max actually did Ekblad a favor. Ekblad’s balls dropped another centimeter closer to full extension, and possible use.

I think he should be suspended but it's not as bad as it looks. There must of been something said or done (doesn't even have to be on that play) and domi was gonna hit him either way so he gave him the opportunity to square up and when he didnt want to answer the bell domi figured f that then tossed the first punch. Doesn't make it right tho

5 games for that? Parros and the league are idiots. Those were dime a dozen a few years ago. Parros himself made a living by bs like that.

Now, you're supposed to get slashed on the hand, hope your fingers dont break and not defend yourself.

At that point honestly, Domi should of knocked Ekblad out cold. Sorry, but if you want to be cheap with your stick, you deserve a broken nose.

People talk like Ekblad received a Zednik or Patches treatment with their blind side hits . Get real. He was staring right at him but was too much of a female organ to defend his actions.

Its just too bad that Ekblad didnt get worse. I'll tell you one thing....he'll think twice now about slashing.

'bout time a Hab sends a message like that.

And to all of you happy he got suspended...you re the same losers that laughed at Plekanec when he said he plays like a girl.

Well, this is doig the opposite. The way things are SUPPOSED to be.

Domi would had played maybe 3 other games. + It is pre-season. No loss of $$$ for him.

But hopefully a good lesson for the rest of his career.

I feel bad for the team which had only a handful of NHL quality centermen to finish the camp.

Drouin back at centre, I guess.....

Ill just keep the focus on what actually happened last night which was a sucker punch thats not old time rough hockey - it's a cheap shot. Not a good intro for Domi in my opinion to the Montreal fans.

Domi's character is spot on for Bergevin another drone meat head who uses his cell phone minutes appropriately.

It was a fantastic intro. Ekblad was writing checks he couldn’t cash and when confronted with the consequence? He looked around for help and was punched in the face. Too bad. Maybe Ekblad can create a go fund me campaign called “I play ice hockey and was punched in the face”. AHAHA!

Somewhere on earth in a hospital
5-2 Loss where Domi was -1 with 14 Penalty Minutes no shots no hits and he was suspended from rest of the preseason

let the good times roll

Its kinda sad actually , meanwhile Galchenyuk whos PPG at center position is playing center in Arizona while we get a 18 goals scorer in 2 years total with 4 empty nets

lol

Yes, let them roll. Price, in his first appearance this season, dodged a flagrant run. Thank God he was already crouched or that would have been ugly.

Domi plays with an edge but last nigth he crossed the line into goon hockey thuggery. Daddy Ti taught him well.
The issue now is he has put his new team in a jam. This prevents chemistry building and screws up the forward line strategy the coaches had in place. Who takes his spot? Kotkaniemi? Suzuki? Both are pretty raw.

Bullshit! What places this this team in “jams” is no one will defend themselves or their teammates while obviously trying to be injured. Price received a full blown Mach 3 run with no other intent other than injury during the game. The only thing that saved his ass? Price was already crouched trying to get the puck. Nothing.
Ekblad slashes and talks trash to Domi. Domi grabs him ready to kick his ass. Ekblad realizes this and looks around for help. Domi punches him in the face and he falls. I don’t see an issue with Domi.’He is a skilled gritty player. Slashes to the joints are just as career ending as concussions. See Saku. Maybe the league should look into this as well.

I never usually agree with Nick Kyprios, but today on the radio he was right on the money.

Is it really a sucker punch if you know its coming?

Given the context of what was going on between the two all game and 10 seconds prior, Ekblad should have defended himself...not saying he has to fight.

You see it all the time with huge open ice hits, you usually have to answer for it. So say Ekblad obliterates someone, and then an opposing teammate drops the gloves and goes after him (and Ekblad doesnr want to fight).

If he gets it in the kisser, its his own damn fault because he should know that its coming and defend himself.

Same thing with Domi, imho.
