He's been off so far this season but to base his value on 9 games with a poor team in front of him rather than the 100+ games he has put in as a proven 26 yr old stud, well thats on you...

That would depend on which fans answered. As for the GM, I don't know that Adams would offer as much as some other teams might.

Bringing in Demko would mean having to do something with Anderson or Comrie and given they were both just signed I'm not sure how that would work out. They brought Anderson back for the locker room aspect, so asking him to be traded, or retire may not work. Comrie signed on for a chance to be the starter, and I doubt he'd be dealt so soon after signing as a UFA.

There's also the aspect of the farm. They seem very committed to Levi being the future, so he's not likely to be traded. I would assume he would be the piece JR would be demanding as part of any return in addition to other pieces.

Goalie does not have to be the return.. Canucks have Silovs in the system and by all reports our goalie guru coach Ian Clarke absoloutely loves that guy and pushed for him to get drafted.

What do you mean the Canucks wouldnt commit to Demko long term? They signed him to a 5 year extension a year ago
someone spewing information like they know the Canucks team and their current contract situation etc. I could see them maybe not wanting to go long term on his next deal, especially if they can draft and develop another G who is close to NHL ready like Demko was when they let Markstrom walk...just barely cause Benning is an idiot and sent all his time trying to sign him and never took care of Tanev and now we still look for a RHD for Hughes when they had one in Tanev...

I’m factoring in his not inconsequential injury history. He wouldn’t be the first goalie to have injuries catch up to him.

Yeah Levi is why I was legitimately asking, as I'm not sure what the consensus is for him in the organization, he seems so boom or bust.

Does it look like Ryan Johnson is signing, or is he signalling that he wants to do the FA thing?

No one really knows that except Johnson. While Levi has made a point of talking about his excitement to join the Sabres and has routinely posted Sabres related things to his social media, Johnson has been relatively vague. I believe he made some comments during development camp that he'll sign after this NCAA season is done, but some fans pointed out he didn't say he'd sign with the Sabres specifically.

To me Silovs looks at least two years away.

Friedman on the Marek show just said that he thinks the only "sacred cows" as in untoucchable and untradeable from Vancouver is Pettersson and Hughes. Friedman says that Demko might be close to being untouchable but he isnt convinced that Vancouver would not move him for a kings ransom. Friedman expressed that its not very often that a vezina caliber 26 yr old goalie is on the market so it would be very surprising if it does happen, but the lineup of suitors would be long.
How is this guy not banned. Go look at his threads and go watch and read the sources he quotes. Completely misinterprets on puropse and creates baity threads like this. Absolutely shocking threads.

Demko hasn't been good this year but he is expected to be a Vezina goalie each night for his team to win. I think he is still an elite goalie in a system where some defense is played

His “goals saved above expected” stats say otherwise. Last season he was 13th in the league. This year he’s 63rd. That stay factors in having a bad team in front. He’s just been bad. Period.

How do we know he isnt using the term "Kings ransom" as a double entendre?
Kings need a fkn goalie.
Kings also have a bevy of prospects. I could see a deal where VAN takes Peterson and a package of youth and picks for Demko.

What do Nucks fan want for him?

Best top prospect available, 1st round pick, 2nd round pick

If all offers are equal, Canucks will probably take the offer that includes a top prospect Dman in it over top prospect F or G.

Could Definitely see Demko in Cali since he is a San Diego boy.

Plenty of prospects that LA that Canucks would be interested in too, Brandt Clarke would be a miracle return but thats the type of prospect i wouldnt mind moving Demko for.

I don’t disagree with the take of trading Demko now.

It has been brought on a few time preschools about his hip issues.

If he does get dealt, it will likely be a Schneider situation again: out of left field, for a nice return, looks not great ST but a smart move LT.

Will be interesting.

Kings make sense, Demko being from the Bay.

Nucks badly need young RHD, draft picks, and potentially C depth depending on the Horvat situation.

Given that there's 10 teams without a reliable starter, I think he'd get a very healthy return. A lot of good teams have their cores falter for years because they can't find reliable goaltending.

Since trading Demko means throwing in the towel for the next 3 seasons, Demko for cap dump + pile of futures would be the structure.

I'm not against it. He's 26 with 3 years on his deal, and then he probably becomes too expensive and walks in free agency anyway. I doubt the Canucks are particularly competitive in the 3 years he's under his current contract.
