One notable difference is that McMichael and Protas were creating more at the NHL level during their NHL stints. I think Lappy could very well end up being a top six player but I have doubts about Miro. He simply doesn’t drive enough of the play at either the AHL or NHL level IMHO.
Many of us were worried about McMichael not being able to cash in on all the high danger chances he was creating last year.
He couldn't finish to save his life, whether on a breakaway or a wrister from the slot, and was obviously frustrated by it.
I see Miro at the same level of development as McMichael was last year.
He gets himself into areas with space but just hasn't been able to get the puck on net yet. His shot is a rocket but it's not as accurate as it needs to be.
Last night he had a goal and 5 shots on net for Hershey. He's getting looks but he's rushing his release in my opinion.
Once he calms down and finds his pace and confidence I think his numbers will climb dramatically and he'll mature into a solid, shoot first winger.
I don't expect him to be a Michkov like force on the ice, but I do think he'll be a consistent scorer in this league.

I hope you are right! With McMichael I saw a guy who got a ton of chances but couldn’t finish. With Miro I’m not seeing the chances.

First two seasons where they get any amount of NHL time:

McMichael: 69 gp, 9 g, 9a, 18p, -3, 10:28 TOI, 0.26 PPG
Protas: 91 gp, 7g, 17a, 24p, -4, 11:38 TOI 0.26 PPG
Miroshnichenko: 39gp, 3g, 7a, 10p, -3, 10:51 TOI, 0.26 PPG

I guess I'm just not seeing the concern about Miroshnichenko right now.
Yea if anything I feel like I've seen more offensive juice out of Miro than McMichael and especially Protas when comparing their first NHL stints. For what it's worth Moneypuck has him at 8 xG over those 39gp ...

McMichael and Protas also both got their first extended looks in their D+3 year, where Miro was a year ahead in his D+2 last year. I'm not concerned about him at all.

The thing about Miro and Lappy (and McMichael for that matter). All have dealt with significant injuries/illness and are still on track. Miro is waivers exempt next year as well so maybe another year in Hershey with callups. But all of those guys have fight and character in them!

Reminder that Miro has taken a substantial jump statistically in the AHL this year. Also a reminder that Miro would be an AHL rookie if he were drafted out of the CHL rather than the KHL.

23-24 Hershey - 47 games played 9 goals 16 assists 25 points
24-25 Hershey - 20 game played 8 goals 9 assists 17 points
24-25 Hershey (projected based on 47 GP) - 19 goals 21 assists 40 points

+10 goals and +15 points in the same number of games played would be a big improvement year over year for a player who hasn't even turned 21 yet.

Laughable take for a prospect who's age 20, missed almost a full year of development time in his D year and is having tons of success at the AHL level for a top tier team. Let's also not forget he put up a healthy amount of points as a teenager on his way to winning the Calder cup last year and took a few of those games over single handedly for the Bears. Not a play driver? lol get real.

He doesn’t drive play on his own. He relies a lot on his line mates to do so. You can laugh all you want but that is the reality. Feel free to disagree. I guess we shall see in a few years who ends up being right.

I think we are looking at different stat lines
