Bears pretty wiped out right now. Sgarbosa, Dube, Limoges, and Massie all out. Rybinski in DC.

Tonight dressing 11F and 7D. Yikes.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't call up Suzdalev or Hofer. Suggests they expect getting someone back soon (either Rybinski from DC or one of their injured players returning).

I don’t know what the injuries are but someone is coming back when OV is back. And another when Eller or Milano comes back. Who knows if we’ll even see Milano. Been really quiet on him. Unsure about Eller. IR retroactive so he is eligible to play on Monday but suspect it will be after the break. How long after we will see.

7-3 loss.

They looked fine until they gave up the fourth goal with about 9 minutes left. Then it absolutely unraveled.

They gave up two goals (and an assist) to the corpse of Kyle Clifford.

7-7-1 at home now. According to Fisch, only Bridgeport and Henderson have more regulation losses at home (though there are three or four teams tied with Hershey at 7).

I would guess that someone was a late scratch and they weren’t able to get someone a flight in time

Maybe… but all of those scratches were scratches on Thursday night as well. Sgarbosa was late scratch on Thursday. then Ry got called up. maybe they hoped one of those guys could go. But regardless, it was ugly. one more go at it tonight. Will be interesting to see if Dube, Limoges, or Sgarbosa can go tonight.

Bear went down last night too, Nely already said he probably can't go today.

Good lord. Well, we can still dress 6 Dee and one in reserve if Massie and Bear are both out. Maybe Lievermann gets in. I like his game. But we need a forward. :-)

Nelson implied during his presser last night that some of the injured guys will be back after Christmas, which I took to mean next weekend. Rybi was just called up yesterday morning so there was no time to call anyone up for last night. Is Miro (or anyone) likely to come back down after Ovi returns?

Two players in Eller and OV coming back perhaps as early as next game (28th which starts 3 games in 4 nights). When first comes back that probably means Rybinski back to Hershey. When Eller comes back it is Miro, Vrana, Lappy will go down. I suspect it is Miro.

It would be crazy dumb to put a hot Vrana on waivers right now. He would get claimed

As they should be. Anyone paying 35 bucks for an AHL hockey game is a fool in some regard, and Hershey are way too far up their own asses this year thinking that's acceptable. Still haven't been to a game and it looks like I'm not missing much this year.

It's only 20 if you use Ticketmaster. They're just trying to get everyone to pre-pay for the parking so the lines move quicker.

yeah, I think they send Miro down first. And likely Lappy second since they are both waivers exempt. That is too bad for Lappy but this is when the business kinda gets in the way. Gonna be a lot of shuttling of Lappy and Miro I would suspect because they are going to need the depth come late season and playoffs.

I hope the scoring issue resolves itself when any of the injured or called up guys come back. But the home ice struggles have been a thing all year.

Saulnier and Sutter were banged up late in the third. It would suck if the depth started dropping too (granted that might be diminishing Riley's role, but he's a guy you'd prefer to be lower in your lineup).

Why would we send down a player filling his role, and playing well, instead of the guy who hasn't been an NHL level player the entire year...?

I’m not sure who you are talking about.
Why send down Miro first, who's been doing well with what he's asked to do, instead of Lapierre, who hasn't been NHL quality the entire year?

I'd much rather Miro ride the bench and rotate with Vrana on the 3rd line then Lapierre. Let Lapierre go spend a few months regaining whatever confidence he needs in the AHL imo.

OK… got it. The reason i send Miro down first is he is one year behind Lappy (with one more waivers exempt year). He is playing on the 4th line when he should be playing a more offensive role. And Raddysh should be playing 4RW. Lappy can play both wing and Center so that is a better 13F piece. And lastly, i think he benefits more from being in Washington. Miro has played significantly less professional games so playing time is more important for his development.

That said, if Milano ever comes back then Lappy would have to be the one to go down.

Earlier this year the Bears were scoring a ton but couldn't defend. Now the opposite is true. Second 1-0 loss on home ice in a week. 15 shots (I think) all game, 0-for-7 on the powerplay.
