I proudly admit I've been banned from both of the FB groups, which is quite a feat given some of the idiots found there.

I've been saying this for years. Two reasons we've never upgraded from 12 games is the distance we live away and that I've reached my fill of the STHs after 12 games.

Clearly you are not a real fan, then. A real fan goes only for the promotional items and then whines like a child when they don't get said item.

**Editor's Note = I am not a real fan, either. We only go because we like the game and the team.
They do tend to be really stuck up and cliquish. We also only have a 12 game plan, mostly for financial reasons. It does get annoying when the STH in front of us and the STH behind us have conversations over us during intermissions and such.

I'm only in the FB group because it tends to be the quickest way to get news about the team (which, as you know, is like pulling teeth at the AHL level) and I'm not on Twitter to be able to follow Fisch and others on there. I feel like we've talked about the fanbase at large before and how 75% are woefully stuck in the hockey mindset of 30- 40 years ago. That group is where I found the gem take last year of Gersich being a more important player than Snively.

I do recall you mentioning that sentiment. It was during the playoffs, I believe. "I'd rather have Gersich than any of the skilled guys..." or something to that effect.

Eetu Liukas of Bridgeport with the most blatant kick I've ever seen yet he still emphatically argues with the ref after the goal is waved off immediately, lol.

So what happened
Shep made a big save while prone on the ice.

Puck was loose at the side of the net.

Liukas blatantly kicks the puck from the side of the net to bank it off Shep's leg and in.

Ref immediately waves it off, Liukas chases him down and argues despite how blatant it was and the fact that the ref was right behind the net.

No matter. 4-0 W for the Bears and a shutout for Shep.

I'm firmly of the opinion that fans at hockey games should do absolutely nothing but sit there quietly and maybe-just MAYBE, mind you- respectfully golf clap when the home team scores.

Man, I'd be so interested in how the Bears would actually preform if you just did a full swap of the Caps and Bears this year. With my limited viewing, it feels like they'd have the same issue (high end talent) but they'd just be a better and more cohesive team then what we've got in Washington.

It'd be cool to see them go back to back.
