They terribly overpaid some star type players and the team had to trade some players to get under the cap. Vegas backup goaltending still is weak and they don't really have a premier type d-man other than Schmidt.

This player got paid on future potential...but he hasn't done shit.

This player got paid on past success...he won twice.
