With Chytil likely out till next season with his 4th concussion, Drury is probably going to target a middle 6 Center since Bonino as a 3C aint going to cut it for too long.

Rangers won't have too much cap space to work with but with Chytil on the LTIR, it might be possible to squeeze an expiring contract like Henrique's @ 50% near the deadline.

What would the cost be...?

It'll probably go something like Rangers 2024 second that becomes a first if they reach the SCF, and a low tier prospect like Barbashev.

Barbashev is probably too low tier. Ducks would probably rather have a pick than a prospect with a 1% chance of making the NHL as a bottom six player.

Lars Eller got traded for a 2nd at the deadline last year with 50% retention, and Henrique already has more points then Eller did at the time of that trade. I think the ask starts at a first.

Negative. That second was 2025. A second today is worth more than a second two years from now. A 2nd that far out is probably more like a 3rd or a 4th today.

2024 conditional 2nd (1st if Rangers make conference final, otherwise stays 2nd)

+ 2025 conditional 4th (becomes 2nd if conditions are not met to transfer first rounder this year)

So that's pick 29-32 this year plus a 4th next year, or your next two second rounders, depending on how far you make it in this year's playoffs.

Could see it costing a 2nd and a B prospect with conditions attached depending how far the Rangers get in the playoffs, would then upgrade to a 1st. Would love this trade to happen between the Rangers and the Ducks. Henrique is playing well, and producing on a struggling Ducks team that cannot score goals. Gives the Rangers some nice depth in the bottom 6, and gives the Ducks more assets to add to their current rebuild.

bad time to ask for Vatrano either, tho I can see Henrique somewhere as a rental
Rs need to stop rentals

we need to do good match of F prospect for Helleson
that needs to go in a separate thread

Drury will add a center, whether we agree with the decision or not.

It'll be one on an expiring contract. We saw what kind of player Adam is all those years in NJ and he'll fit this team perfectly. Responsible two way player. 20/20 40pt player. Good on the dot. Can contribute on special teams. He's a good player who fills a need, and is versatile enough to play different positions if Chytil does come back for the playoffs.

Seems like Henrique is the exact type of player teams are looking for to supplement a playoff run. I suspect the demand for his services will be high and so will the price. See for reference: Foligno, Nick.

Not the best example.

Agreed.

He is a guy who can play anywhere in the lineup in every situation on the wing or in the middle. He is great at faceoffs also.

No reason he shouldn’t get a 1st at 50%.

Someone should def be added esp if Chytil is still dealing w/concussions.

But it should start w/Edstrom, now.
4th line to start
others move up
