I think every player can be sold at the right price, but does it actually cost more?

I can think of all sorts of players being traded that were heart and soul.

The Leafs acquired Ryan O'Rielly last year. They also traded their captain years ago (they didn't get much for him).

I am not discouraged. I think CBJ will move Jenner even if there is a heart and soul tax.

Who's heart and soul on your team?

Probably Colton Sissons for Nashville. I'd guess the ask would be as much if not more than Ekholm if Trotz would even trade him at all.

For some reason you added K, I and missed the R A E R. Don't worry. I fixed it for you.
sadly, mostly true
tho I'd say Cuylle puts out hard EVERY shift
Kakko is still trying to find chemistry w/multiple dif scenarios, but eye test shows his effort is there.
Trouba has an uneven game, but I would not say he lacks heart/soul

I suppose Morgan Rielly could be the heart and soul guy on TOR. He shows more emotion and reacts to dirty things on the ice. He's talented and would fetch a big price. Probably the Boone Jenner Tax on top of that.

Boone is a good player on a good contract and is the captain on a team lacking vets. Boone wont be traded anytime soon unless he asks to be traded. Maybe toward the end of his contract but by then the team shouldnt be complete trash and he would still be valuable down the lineup

Defense sucks after him so just like Columbus trading Boone it would be stupid. People seem to forget the goal in the NHL is bigger than just acquring the most picks

Right theory, wrong guy.

There would be a huge heart and soul tax on Jenner. I don't think any team would pay the CBJ the heart and soul tax required to acquire Jenner. He is way more important to the CBJ now and in the future than any return he could potentially garner. It's not impossible but I'd be extremely surprised if the CBJ received a good enough offer to move him.

question is whats more important long term = boone being there as a great leader on weak teams for a few more years of his prime . or getting back a great prospect and 1st round pick in attempt to build a team around fantilli ? ide opt for the future even though i love boone

What is another late 1st round pick going to do for the youngest team in the league still in the bottom five. They can only hope to get a guy like Jenner. Why can't Boone be around while they build the team around Fantilli? Not like his contract is unreasonable and when he goes they have nobody like him. There are vets on the CBJ that may be traded but I think it's highly unlikely that Jenner is moved even for the hypothetical 1st. The theory is correct but you have the wrong guy.

my angle is that i dont care if its sydney crosby , if the team is far away from contending and the players leaving prime years i move him for the sake of the future ! ive seen too many teams hold onto stars while sinking to the bottom of the sea which does zero good . mean while trading boone for a stud prospect and a 1st could end up getting cbj another boone for the future . teams play the loyalty to star's card like sentimental fools when the nhl is hard competition where every move matters ! trade boone then next summer bring in a beyond prime , aka cheap add , vet great to become mentor ..

Ohhh iiiiiii seeeeeeee. So based on wise and prudent decisions CBJ will only be taking what? Equivalent problem veterans in exchange for Laine/Provorov? You can follow up on that plan by hiring Mike Babcock.

Jesus Christ!

If you want to keep "angling" to make your point with unrealistic trade offers to feel like you "won" a posting contest with me then be my guest. You win.

But I live in the real world. So please continue to throw out unrealistic trade offers to support whatever point you are trying to make. No GM in the NHL is going to offer a "stud prospect" and a 1st round pick for Boone Jenner no matter how many times you post it as truth. I also love the ridiculous "I don't care if it's Sydney Crosby" comment. At least you didn't use Gretzky like others have.

I stand by my original post. It's not impossible but I highly doubt that Jenner gets moved. He's more valuable to the CBJ now and in the future than any "realistic" (or unrealistic) offer that Jarmo is going to see.

But please continue.

Miller is the heart and soul guy for Vancouver. Considering how good he has been in the last 5 years, he's not getting moved unless for a player of similar calibre, not to mention that his deal just started and he has an NMC.

At some point one needs to actually build a team, with actual coherent structure and flow, rather than keep mindlessly minmaxing number of futures.

Adam Lowry for the Jets. Great playoff performer and plays with heart every shift. I believe that there isn’t a team in the league that he wouldn’t make better.

I LOVE LOVE BJ

If you close your eyes and think of 1 guy that would be perfect fit for a Rick Tochett system it would be JT Miller, but Boone Jenner fits that mold too!

I think he would be an excellent addition to our top 6

Suter- Miller- Boeser
Pettersson- Jenner- Kuzmenko (if he returns to form)

Jenner has 2 more years at 3.75AAV, Id definitely give up a 1st rounder for him.

Jenner retained

1st and Podkolzin

David Savard. He's needed as a veteran D so despite being a valuable trade commodity in his own right, most fans and reporters think he should be kept.

And Hughes.

I would say Garland and Hoglander are the most tenacious players who play with the most effort though.

Lemme guess, Viqsi said no to any thought of moving him?
Along with the other CBJ fans?

Absolutely feel bad for Boone, he needs a fresh start somewhere else.
If he isn't traded at deadline or in July, Jarmo needs to be fired.
