Boucher is the easiest to tolerate out of Vigneault, Ruff, Boucher.

Still not great that he was fired from the TB job.

Hoping Tippett becomes available, but I really think he'd rather stay in Phoenix.

Eh, that roster is a ****ing mess. They have four good forwards, Matt Carle is their #2 defenseman, and the goaltending situation is arguably the worst in the league. The one year he had capable goaltending, his team went pretty far.

Fair enough. But to be honest, Torts' relationship with and handling of the media is pretty far down on my list of complaints I could have with him.

I just don't understand why anyone thinks he's anything more than a mediocre coach. I'd rather have Ruff. And that's saying something.

I would be the happiest man alive if Pierre McGuire was the coach of the NYR... seriously. The sheer comedic value and the general sunshine that radiates from his bald head would make me a happy camper. Something about Pierre just makes me joyous. I would just love to see that experiment come to fruition haha.

Aside from that list of qualities, the guy has coached stacked teams that were projected to win the cup and somehow let them implode more than a few times. Torts did that once in a lockout season with two major roster turnovers and he got fired.

I want a guy where the media collectively says "WHO THE FUDGE IS THIS GUY"

The team needs a new approach to how the game is played. We need a younger mind that can better relate to the players that we have on the team and those that will be joining down the line.

A guy that the youngsters are encouraged to seek out for knowledge rather than worry about if the coach is run you down.

Not a push over by any stretch, but someone that can quickly earn the respect of the room, not just demand it.

I remember most of the douchey Lightning fans telling me Carle was an awesome signing when I was LOLing at the terms. I really dislike a lot of their fans (quite arrogant) since they think their team can do no wrong. Just a random aside.

I mean, I watched Carle act as a pylon in Philly for a few years. They thought that he'd magically play better in Tampa and they also thought he was an amazing d-man for Philly.

Agreed, never thought Carle was anything special, always racking up points with lethal power play units. To his credit, at least he did that, some guys like Brewer never had it in them to do even that.

I hated Brewer in his draft year, so overrated based on size. Funny thing is they liked his skating, which I always thought was sluggish, he proved me right.

Not the case with everyone though. People tend to overlook a pretty big margin of stupidity and failure as long as the individual seems "swell".
