For the time being, the Montreal Canadiens will be under league control. HC and I have decided that these will be Montreal's keepers:

Patrice Bergeron
Eric Staal
Alexander Semin
Jonathan Toews
Duncan Keith
Andrei Markov
Jonas Hiller

I think Montreal would be better off keeping Ladd instead of Hiller, there are a few better goalies that will be available in the draft. And Hiller will have to compete with Fasth for starts.

Waiting to hear back from HC.

In other news, I've inputted all the keepers and prospects into fantrax. We just need Ottawa to pick a new keeper since Zibanejad is a prospect, and then we can roll over the keepers.

I agree Hiller shouldn't be a keeper. It's debateable that he's even the starter

EDIT: HC gave Modo 2 1st round picks and me none. womp womp.

With most teams having a goalie locked down MTL will get to draft out of Hiller, Backstrom, Pavs, Reimer/Bernier, Emery, Markstrom, Elliot.

Andrew Ladd was a Top 25 FP producer on F last season for this league, he is definitely a keeper.

Ey ey ey, can the non-keepers be removed from teams first? It would be a lot easier to see who is available to draft.

And we should make some kind of rule about going over the cap to avoid a situation like last year...

Whoops, I was looking at last year's league, my bad.

I would say that we cant go more than $3M over the cap. Last year a certain GM purposely went like $10M over, drafting the best player available at all times and tried to trade them in a package for an upgrade...

Look at the first page of this thread.

Also, taking the 1st overall pick was a bad move IMO. No one stands out as a clear favorite. Mid-picks are the way to go this year.
