Hazy Days of Winter.

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

It is 7:12pm and it might as well be 5pm. It is going to take me awhile to get used to 8pm sunsets.

We are close enough to the mountain time zone that it stays light out longer.
Yeah, it's still light out and that's crazy.

I don't like this DST business though, why don't we just compromise and set it to the half hour in-between daylight savings time and standard time and then never change it?

First time I've been able to sign on in a while. Back home and settled in. The cruise was fan-f***ing-tastic. I get why it might not be for everybody but that was a great time. St Lucia was my favorite of the islands we visited, by far. Barbados probably the least favorite. Didn't even get off the ship in Martinique and just used it as an extra "sea day" to explore the ship.

Perhaps when I'm able to log in from my cell phone (it hasn't been working for a few days?) I will post a couple photos.

One important call out, the flight home to Logan was INSANITY. We landed Saturday early evening and woah baby boy it was windy. We came in Tokyo Drift style, wheels down while facing slightly to the left. I'd like to not experience that again lol

I keep seeing 63s everywhere I go today.

Twitter down again? I don't use it but none of the shared tweets are loading here. Maybe it was hacked.

Glad you made it home safe and sound, Charlie. Also glad you had a great time.

Remember, EVERY landing that you can walk away from, is a good landing...... ;)

Time for my annual dance with Xfinity when my internet "promo" price runs out.

Went into the local store after work, there were no customers so I was able to speak with someone right away. Told him I needed to reduce my internet cost. He looks at my account and says "ah, your promo just dropped off but you probably already know that." I said yes, that's why I'm in here every year asking the same thing. So he pulls up their current deals and instead of going from $105 up to $155, it's now going down to $95. And this time it's good for two years.

I don't know why I have to go through this every time but at least they always give me another promo.

Out of curiosity, did you ever have to eject out of a plane? I imagine you must have had some interesting flights.

Thankfully, no. Never had to.

Did have a pretty bad engine fire once, but thankfully we were only about 5-10min out from El Centro when it happened so we ended up shutting down the engine and made an emergency landing there. Had a bunch of fire trucks chasing us down the runway when we landed and the bottom of the whole left side of the airplane was black. But the emergency procedures worked and it was just another day at the office... ;)

Had a few more scares, but that was probably the only time the thought ever crossed my mind.

Just a heads up but I found out today from my allergist that Chick Fil A has added pea protein to their fries to make them crispier.

The issue with this is that if you are allergic to peanuts you are likely allergic to peas in all forms as they are a legume.

As someone who has a tree nut allergy, this is terrifying. A lot of places add walnut flour to their healthier baked goods in order to up the protein count. I cannot have Cheesecake Factory because of this.

i don’t use pea protein based powder or shakes because it irritates my stomach so at least it is another incentive to never try Chick Fil A.

I'm at 50 bucks and some change for internet only. I think at the end of the year it jumps to 90ish, and then the end of next year it jumps again to 130ish. For JUST internet.

They are the absolute worst.
