Not gonna lie. I’m getting very worried about Bedard. Everyone will chime in and say he’s 19 or his line mates suck and coaching is bad, but be honest - what are we really seeing from him? He’s not fast, he isn’t creating his own offense, he’s bad at the dot, he’s a mess defensively. He has this amazing release but he’s not getting shots.

I soooo want this kid to be a stud, but something is off right now. What do we think it is? Is it sophomore slump or is it maybe he’s not the generational player he was hyped to be? I honestly don’t know. But 5G in his last 33 NHL games is very concerning. As is 4 sog in his last 4 games.

Fell asleep literally 3 minutes into the first period. Didn't even make it to 9:15. Woke up and watched the youtube highlight package. Glad I missed the game.

team has become unwatchable. Last year it was fun to just watch Bedard, but that joy is long gone this season. now it's depressing to watch Bedard.

Think I'll skip games and just watch the highlight package from now on unless/until Bedard turns it around.

if Bedard slumping is a PPG player then there is zero reason to worry...team sucks, coaching sucks, no talent, all that will start to change in the next 12-24 months...They should get an impact forward in draft, they have Nazar, Rinzel, KK, Lev and more coming...Hopefully bring in an established coach with some winning pedigree..If Bedard continues to struggle as a ppg player after all of this happens then maybe be concerned...Also can move him to wing so he can focus more on maximizing his offensive output...And get all these useless vets off the team too, give Bedard the C and put the franchise in the hands of the youth, what is there to lose...Why did we get a generational talent and immediately give captaincy to a career 3rd-4th line bum when we just told Kane and Toews we want the youth to lead the room going forward...Sure Foligno is a great co-worker, who wouldnt be at 4x market rate for a job, get these guys out of here

Bedard is not a ppg player right now. He is on pace for 63 pts.

This is why I wanted Domi back. He is close to 50% at the dot for his career and could have taken draws for Bedard while playing wing.

Instead every shift is the same. Lose possession immediately off the draw, chase the puck spending all your energy playing poor defense.

74 points in 85 games on terrible teams, dealt with injuries, no talent around him...move him to RW, staple Nazar to his line as his C and see where Bedard is after a meaningful sample size

I can’t believe I’m saying this but it would be interesting to see how Bedard would look as a winger with Strome as his C.

Yeah they’d be a disaster in their own zone but Bedard already is anyway.

ppg would be 85 pts in 85 games or more, stop lying to yourself. points have to be >= gp to be ppg. Would take arguments if he was one or two short.

Right now, over his career he's a 70 pt player.
This year so far he's on pace for 63.

move Bedard to right wing and pair him with Nazar at center, its not complicated...they need to tell Bedard think offense all the time because the outcome where he's a Kane/Kucherov type player is what moves the needle for this team...Let Nazar be the 70-80 point two way center
The Nazar plan would be more realistic if he was being used as a center in Rockford. On PP1 they have Guttman taking faceoffs with him on the wing. What's point of that?!

Is Guttman even good at faceoffs? I can’t even remember.

But yeah, Nazar should be taking as many as he possibly can.

Just finished watching the game and it was pretty depressing:
- Bedard was possibly the worst player on the ice
- Once again a terrible interference penalty call and it cost Hawks the winning goal. A player stationary on the ice cannot be called for interference. Where do they get these bozo officials? As for the goal, Kaiser and Dickinsen both puck watching covering no one.
- Donato played well, as did Hall though (without checking) his ice time seemed limited.
- Mrazek played well again.
- Once again Seattle made Hawks look like they were skating in mud most of the game.
- Donato and Bedard should be on the same line.
- Can we please put Joey back in the press box.
- Another game where Hawks show no urgency until late in the game. Right now I reckon they're for the most part the worst team in the NHL - it's only great goaltending keeping most of the games close..

That shouldn't even matter. At best, isn't he bottom six? Yet let's make sure Frank masters the wing position and then still have 2C as a question mark here for next year.

Bedard continues to look like a boy playing against men, and he is. His skating is holding him back as well he tries to do too much. He can't do the things in the NHL that he was able to easily do as an amateur. I think playing with Donato will help a bit but he needs better support while he figures out what will work.

Slow down there! It takes at least three years to build a legit top line. Maybe next year!

No one can live up to that hype. Size matters in the NHL and we are noticing it this year with him. And looking into the future I think the blackhawks will be dumb enough to just keep on drafting skilled but undesized forwards. The Buffalo Sabres part 2 ?

Levels of generational we've never seen before

Dylan Strome is a top 5 center in the league

Embarrassingly, Chicago and the people of this board didn't know what they had... all except one

According to the gospel of line charts, Brodie should be top pairing and Craig Smith top line. We are reading this literally, yes?
I look at the whole.

At even strength (for the whole season), Reichel has a CF% of 38.62.

Brodie is 44.22, and Smith is 44.28.

They're all generating bad numbers, but Reichel is the worst on the whole roster.

And in the case of Reichel, he's only getting offensive deployment, and he's only being matched against the opponent's worst lines. It's as favorable deployment as you can get, and yet he's still this bad.

Do you mean do this now? I don't think the solution to get Bedard going is to have a rookie learning the ropes of the NHL playing against top competition every night as his center. Seems like a recipe for disaster. They should keep Nazar in Rockford for most of the year.
