Hogs are 2nd youngest team in League by weighted average, Griffins are 10th oldest.

Grand Rapids has Shine (31), Snively (28), Watson (32), Dries (30), Rafferty (29), Didier (31), Lagesson (28), Dello (27) in key roles. Even guys like E. Soderblom and Tuomisto aren't babies.

How is age relevant? Older AHL guys are still AHL guys, other than maybe Athanasiou who was the Hogs only offense yesterday. If anything I'd expect a younger AHL team to have more talent than a bunch of older guys who probably never played higher than bottom pairing or 3rd line in the NHL. Watson probably has the most NHL games played, but he shouldn't be outclassing younger guys to the level they were getting worked over yesterday. Nate Danielson is 20 and he had a highlight reel play where he deked the entire team before passing to a wide open teammate for a goal.

Older AHL teams typically outperform younger AHL teams, fyi. A team like Hershey who won the Calder Cup the last couple years was one of the most experienced teams in the League. Yes of course you hope your younger players with high potential will play well.

Bedard moved to wing ..not justcfor letting his wing take draws...They probably want to get him.out of his slump by reducing the more complex defensive checking role that centers must do well to prevent goals.. probably felt center was too energy draining on himand mentally taxing ..

Hopefully this works and Bedard gains the energy back for more shots and more attack chances..

Still..if he wants to score goals he must skate the puck to the higher dNger moddlecslit and release ..if he over-pasess or stays on rhe perimeter..his meager goal count probably staysin the doldrums.

This applies to alk Hawks forwardsctoo..They must get off more shots from the middle high dNgwr slit and also not peel away to the sides but instead go to the net for screens and deflections..mist get inside the D-clog ...not be on the outside of it.

Popping in to ask how Brodie has looked with the Hawks.

I loved Brodie as a Leaf. He got some flack in his 4th year with us but played really well the first three years. He lost his Father in the offseason leading into year 4 and his wife was diagnosed (I believe with MS). He went through some difficult personal times and I feel for him and hope he's doing well on that level.

Really liked Brods and hope he's playing well for you guys.

He's been terrible. Seems like a good dude but he's easily our worst skater.
