  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Oh if he asked you to drink a glass of koolaide some of you would do so without hesitation...it was spooky how he could do no wrong because some of you thought you knew what the plan was and the rest of us were so wrong.

If the scouts don’t view anybody outside of McKenna and Stenberg as being difference makers, is it defensible?

I’m willing to bet that’s exactly how the front office views this draft.
it's defensible if the team wins a great deal more games next year, sure. at face value though, it seems like a reach.

Trading away Crevier + 45th and taking on horrible cap dump in process on top of 4th all for an overrated #4 who will be paid #1 money and is one hit away from retirement

f***ing joke

Bedard and his agent give Chicago a price on extension the same day a blockbuster trade happens...Maybe thats what caused Davidson to go for it, the need to get Bedard to sign an 8 year extension

The Sabres are my second favorite team and while Byram looked really dangerous in the playoffs, it never occurred to me Chicago would deal the 4th overall, Crevier, and a high second for him. That is a huge overpay and I get that losing was getting old, but they needed to wait one more year.

Maybe Bedard told management they better improve the team NOW or he's going to do what he can to get to free agency.

I dunno. This trade seems too ridiculous to not have some irrational angle.

I hope this works out for us not only cause I want the team to be successful, but also for teams to start dealing top 5 picks again.

Would have preferred a protected 1st over #4 for a pending UFA Byram getting Malhotra would have been so nice actually getting a C and finally ending the Nazar Frondell conundrum of who plays C and who plays W
