Have the 'scary' version of the Devils arrived?

Markstrom's "fine" but I would really ask Flames fans how he performed in that 2022 playoffs.

I don't think the Devils get through the Cats.
Yeah i think the Panthers are still the team to beat as well. They were IMO the best team we have played this season but the Devils beat them back to back games on the road earlier in the year. Weird schedule quirk but they got outplayed badly by the Cats and squeaked a win they first game. The next game they outplayed Florida pretty badly and beat them big. Who knows how the rest of the season will turn out...

Not the flex you think

Are you still in high school that you seriously think someone asking a reality-based, reasonable question about the timing of such a thread and subsequent commentary is supposed to qualify as some kind of 'flex'???

Last I checked, losses all count the same whether one's team gives up 15 shots or 45 shots.

They’re perennial contender status, but still have plenty of questions like every team that is still working its way to the top: Markstrom, bottom-6, Dougie Hamilton, Timo/Bratt come playoff time

No Devils fan who watched that Jackets game was upset.

Good thing no one ever made the claim that Devils fans were upset after that loss - what you are doing here is creating a strawman argument and then trying to refute it. Juvenile behavior.

Yeah I reread your posts. I misread it originally and thought you were implying about the play of the team, not what warrants a thread and the timing of it which I couldn’t care less about. I did say OP should have just posted about the 7 games in a row record, not what he posted. Would have been better.

So we are fine; I removed my last reply

showing humility ≠ juvenile

I appreciate the mature response. Personally I don't have any issues with the Devils as an organization - my issue here was that it seems pretty apparent that OP waited until the Devils beat up on their struggling, collapsing rivals to do a thinly-veiled gloat thread about how 'scary' the Devils look and I was calling attention to the timing of that behavior. If OP had created a thread about the Devils being good at suppressing shots lately there would have been no issue nor even a reply from me about it.

All these Devils threads are going to be bumped by salty Rangers fans in Feb/march aren't they?
What threads are you talking about? There was one over the top thread early in the season but NJ fans have largely done a decent job avoiding any threads about team success.

In what crazy world is Dougie Hamilton a question for this team? A top pair offensive defensemen only having to play on the 3rd pair while playing rock solid defensively and leading one of the best powerplays in the league.

An elite defensmen playing in a smaller role than he’s used to is no problem. What is possibly a question about him? The devils d group in general is the furthest thing from a question mark about this team.

Depth scoring when the top 6 gets shut down sure. How the top forwards will perform in playoffs sure. Markstrom, maybe but it’s unlikely him and Allen aren’t at least close to average and way better than they’ve had in previous season.
