Dunno about Red Sox but Liverpool FC were consistently one of the top teams in the Champions League and the Premier League under Klopp (their coach until this season), so him not being fired by FSG says next to nothing about FSG's tendency to fire or not fire underperforming coaches.

Yeah, I think Alex Cora of the Red Sox is probably a better comparison. Klopp was never under fire as Liverpool manager. Thought Liverpool churned through managers pretty routinely prior to Klopp under FSG.

Cora won a World Series in his first year as manager, missed the playoffs the next year, was suspended for a year, lost in the league championship series his third year, and has had three consecutive .500 or worse seasons since.

Most managers would have been fired. He signed a three-year extension this summer.

I like to think the Pens have been trolling the Rangers by keeping Sullivan for so long. I mean sure we're trolling ourselves too, but the Rangers have been waiting around to hire Sullivan for years now. I bet they'd fire Lavy tomorrow and hire Sully if Sully were available.

This is like shooting yourself in the dick to get back at your ex.

Everything I am seeing on twitter is their former coach left unexpectedly left for the AHL, and O'Rourke was the assistant so they just let him take over. They want to play a different style heading into the playoffs so he was let go. He is being replaced by Ryan Malone's cousin Brad, who just retired from playing last year.

My last post made me wonder, if everyone starts referring to him as Charlie McAvoy's father in law, do you think Sully would rage quit?

Sullivan's Crossing.

Maybe they can remake this into a hockey drama series about a coach who just loves his pet players.
