Has Mike Sullivan Been Fired yet

Yes

In reality though its Sid. I am confident all of the above is a factor. But Sid is the main mover. If he wants change then change will happen. So far he as supported Sully.
Right. There’s no facade there, Sid hates losing. The only reason Sully is around is because they’ve convinced him that he’s not the problem.

Are they really businessmen though? They make a lot of bad financial decisions.
I mean just look at the discussion about the charity bags. They’re being cheap, which short term can look like a good business decision. Long term it’s awful for your product but that’s not the world we live in anymore.

Everything about going to a game now feels cheap.

Doubt it. Sid has never publicly done anything except support Sully. If Sid needed convincing in the background that would mean he was voicing displeasure. If that ever happened there would of been changes PDQ. I am very confident that Dubas has been very open and honest about the plan and direction with Sid. Sid is fully on board with what is going on.

McGroaty on Sid’s wing, Koivunen on the 2nd, centered by Rakell. See if that sticks. Koivunen seems to be more productive at RW is playing LW.

Hilariously enough, I just looked online again now and it appears that all of this year’s charity bags are now finally sold out.

Which of these reasons is most likely why FSG won't pull the trigger on firing Sullivan:

a) They're being cheap.
b) He's from Boston
c) They're afraid how the Big Three would react.
d) They look at the Steelers and the lowest common denominator of yinzers who think the coach can never be fired, and think that must translate across all Pittsburgh sports.
E) They prioritize identifying coaches who clearly communicate and have a particular management style. They churned through managers in Liverpool until they landed on Jurgen Klopp, who fit an identity - and then had substantial success. Klopp retired and they replaced him with someone very similar in Arne Slot.

They canned Grady Little in Boston after two years - and a very public playoff mishap with Pedro Martinez - in favor of Terry Francona, who is widely considered one of the best active managers in the game. He was let go after 7 years and a couple of championships. They thought they had something in John Farrell, but he kept losing in the playoffs. Now they have Alex Cora, who they won an early World Series with and have stuck with despite a suspension and recent struggles.

Not saying it's the right choice, but they have a clear methodology.

I mean, it’s great for charity but 95% of the stuff in the bags is cheap crap.

Wouldn’t be surprised if most of it is past promotional night leftovers.
Really? My $3 bid won the Chad Ruhwedel bag and I got his jersey, a note to him from Mike Sullivan in the Zodiac Killer's cipher and several what appear to be ineffective doses of Walgreens brand minoxidil

It boggles my mind why any of you legit want Sully to be fired at this point? Pens automatically double their coaching costs along with the chance of having a good coach to accrue points that hurt them in the much needed draft.

This is a team not in pursuit of wins, but in young assets (needed to pursue future wins). Stop acting like this is the 2010-2020 decade. Next important decade is 2030-2040.

Yes, we all hate him and he dumb as hell now with certain things, but he's the right kind of dumb this org needs until his contract runs out and certain players finally retire. I much rather discuss who the worst players are and how we can play them even more out of position. How do we assemble a #1 OA team?

Because the product that Sully puts on the ice is boring as hell and I want to be entertained, as this is entertainment first and foremost.

Besides, thinking that Sully will do more for rebuild is ludicrous.

Because I want our young prospects developed to the full extent of their abilities and Sullivan is clueless on this front lol..

Sid is not the type of player who would go out of his way to get the coach ousted, but has anybody actually approached him about it? Is anyone ALLOWED to bring the subject up in conversations with the captain?

I know Sid did not go to an Ivy League school, but he seems like a reasonably smart person. He LIVED the experience of going from Therrien to Bylsma, and then he experienced it once more by going from Johnston to Sullivan. He understands all too well the value of renewed vigor and energy that only comes from a coaching change.

So, either our beloved 87 is suffering from CTE because of his concussion history, and therefore cannot remember the Bylsma or early Sullivan coaching change bump, OR nobody is allowed to even discuss removing the czar from behind the bench.

Bet on the latter.
