Since Mike Sullivan last coached a team to a Playoff Series win, 2018-19, these are the coaches that have been replaced.

Now that the team is showing a pulse again it seems like he is safe for the rest of the year.

Honestly he was probably safe regardless barring like a 10 game losing streak or something like that if only because he's the 4 nations coach this year.

From Rossi today. Yes, it's Rossi, but it addresses some things that have been discussed at times here and elsewhere:

FSG is fairly loyal to coaches it’s assessed to have the goods, though. That’s proven true with the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool Football Club, and the vibe I get is FSG wants Mike Sullivan here for the duration of his current three-season contract. And I know Dubas wants that, because he wasn’t willing to let Sullivan walk this summer, despite having autonomy from FSG to make a change behind the bench.
...
Sullivan keeps appearing on everybody’s hot-seat lists. His isn’t even warm.

Are there any more Mike Sullivans in the Pittsburgh area? - because, as we all know, if you fire one you have to find another.

I can't even escape this dude watching international hockey. Hopefully 4th pace finish in that stupid four nations tournament looms.
I think USA wins, they got the best defense, very mobile, and the best goaltending in the tournament.

I don't know if anyone has seen the John Woo masterpiece, Broken Arrow.

There's a scene where Howie Long has to pretend he's dying, and the moaning noise he makes as he "dies" is basically how I feel every time I watch a game this year.

John Travolta trying to tank the missile that's about to kill him at the end is Sullivan trying to make the playoffs
