Has Connor Bedard quietly became underrated ?

That's exactly what I say, he doesn't have anybody around to help him with 5vs5 scoring because he plays with TK on PP only, and Konecny is the only player on the Flyers who thinks the game close to Michkov's level.
Enough with the bad teammates excuses. Barkov, Crosby, McDavid, Draisaitl, Kucherov, Kaprizov, Panarin, Ovechkin, Matthews, Pastrniak, Mackinnon, Aho, Scheifele, Tkachuk, Stutzle, Eichel, etc. would be able to produce with any linemates. They are the definitions of elite players. Connor Bedard doesn't have anything elite, except for his shot, but he doesn't have the space, time or the Iq to use it often. The more I watch him, he's closer to a Alex Debrincat than a Mackinnon kind of player. Very one dimensional smallish perimeter winger.
I would take Macklin Celebrini before Bedard any day of the week. :teach:

He's simply too small to ever be the type of generational player some people billed him as. And he was massively over rated. Skilled like Kane, Shoots like Matthews, the most 'Generational' player since Mcdavid. But he looks like a slightly less dynamic Johnny Gaudreau when you actually watch him play.

Hasn’t scored much (3 in 21 games) and is a minus six. The Harwks are forcing a young guy, who clearly isn’t ready, to play top centre minutes. Bedard should be on the wing and transition of a few years to centre.

They have junk and pylons for players who can’t take the pressure off of him.

Well they had junk last season also and he was decent. What I’ve noticed is they are taking away his time and space much more this season and he can’t get his wicked shot off. And he’s struggling to adapt and create that said space. He will figure it out eventually.

The Bedard hate is silly. He will be fine. He’s not going to be a McDavid or Crosby. He will be an elite talent in the NHL and a top player in the league for a long time. The haters hate stems from jealousy and bias for the most part.

ChI’m cargo has gone five straight with just ONE power lay opportunity each game…FIVE power plays in five games…that has to affect his points production…all the other top end players have very high PP pt totals…Blackhawks GM should be addressing this with the NHL…five power plays in five games??? They’ve only been interfered/restricted illegally FIVE TIMES in five games by their opponents???

I think he’ll be fine, but he was never close to generational. Probably the most ridiculous “generational” hype we’ve seen in a recent draft that wasn’t remotely applicable.

Chicago should be very concerned that they’ve actively tried to be the worst team in the league for as long as they have been now and the best thing they’ve got is a wing that plays the game that Bedard does. Certainly not fully formed at 19 but there’s a long road ahead to get near how he was talked about coming into the league.
Tanking has consequences. You can’t just flip a switch and change organizational behaviour. Losing is a learned behaviour that permeates every aspect of the organization if you let it., players especially. You don’t just draft first overall and turn it around.

Ask me how I know

They aren't comparable. Williams had a lot of hype two years ago but that died down when he followed up on a Heisman winning season with a so-so year. In Bedards draft year he got even better.
Bedard will be a good player but he will never live up to his draft hype.

Connor Bedard needs to quietly become a man and stop playing like he's in junior. You'd think getting your jaw broken would teach a few things but he still skates like he's playing with kids his size and way under his skill level.

He can be a great player if he'd stop doing that shit.

Pretty much, it's the same thing with Quinn Hughes. I mean, sure you could be a good hockey player but first you have to put the kleenex away and stop crying incessantly.

I was thinking more along the lines of stop playing like you can just skate through everybody without getting clocked.

Probably that too, but that's typical of young star players. They're babies.

Then why is Donato having arguably a better season than him?

Donato gets 5 min less a games and has 6 more goals.
Donato also has a higher points per 60

If Bedard was truly generational, he wouldn't be getting outplayed by a teammate who has a career high of 31 pts.

Because he plays a north-south game now and just gets around the net. He has done his best with Dickinson the only legit puck winning center they have. The team never has puck possession to do much. They're really a tank roster still.
