team is trending up. i think we're gonna be buyers
I think there's a good chance that we trade away more players, and maybe we use some of those gained assets to trade for other players. I don't think we're in an all-in situation, though. I don't think we're going to waste assets on rentals.

Reilly Smith, for example. It would make a lot more sense to move him rather than keep him as a self-rental, whether we are in a playoff spot or not. Lindgren, Borgen and Vesey fall into that group as well, though there will probably be major tears shed if Lindgren is traded, and that might result in another prolonged losing streak.

Possibly but IMO we won't be bigger buyers than last year when we barely got any adds. If anything I expect Drury continue to make hockey trades with sight set beyond this season. More likely - expect to be net sellers.

i disagree - the essential difference is we have cap space

This cap space is already spoken for after this season. Last season Drury could've gotten creative and pay for additional cap space but he didn't do it because around TDL it was not obvious that the team be able to make a run - and this season the situation is even worse.

I was against the Rempe call up. Guessing the organization wanted to spark the team.
Rempe either took it on his own or may have been nudged into accomplishing that mission which lead to his suspension.
Matt was coming along nicely with the added minutes and responsibilities.
Now Othmann looks to be tracking as a potential NHL player since his return from injury. Would‘t want his progress to be interrupted by a call up were he’s taking 5-7 minutes a night with no special teams play.
Also would like to see Mancini finish the regular season in Hartford.
That all being said if there is to be a sell off at the TDL then Belize and Grouxl are good choices from the forward group. They can slot right in with out having to worry about taking costly mistakes. Maybe Sucese? He’s been in and out due to injuries.
Garand maybe as a backup if Quick is moved (?)
Still early but I don’t see anyone else that is NHL ready up in Hartford.

thus the incoming rental meat and potatoes fwd
You don’t make sense. If you refer to bottom liners - the Ranger already have and will have coming up quite a few. If you mean expensive meat and potatoes - it goes back to the point that there’s no cap space.

Sucese is AHL contract, doubt NYR would feel it worthwhile to sign him

Among the vet Fs w Pack,
Blidh has most NHL experience, (then Lesch) but scores less than Belzile or Groulx

any one seen any updates re Riley Nash?

Included Sucese in case they need to ice 18 skaters.
I did miss Leschyshyn . He would be another filler choice.
Blidh needs a change in scenery in my opinion. His play this season though passionate is sporadic.
No update on Nash. Believe the backend of his 2 year contrast was 2 way. Also pretty sure he’s set down roots up the road in Springfield were he has 2 preteen children.
Might be more interested in playing dad than playing hockey?
My whole post was based on if Drury did a clearing at the TDL and not disrupting the development of some AHLl talent.

For the sake of precision Bardreau didn't challenge Chmelar. He jumped him. As for why I'm not sure that's an accidental hit but it was because of that. My issue with Bardreau if you want to fight just square off. Chmelar did a lot better in this one than the last one....and he was jumped in that one too. He's a big, strong guy with a physical game and is a decent enough contributor already to be a potential bottom 6 NHL forward with further development.

Anyway for first year Pack players---Chmelar, Roobroeck, McConnell-Barker and Mancini are all doing well and IMO have successfully made the jump into the pros and all have a shot to one day become NHL players. To have 4 guys to make that jump in one year is pretty damn good for any team any particular season and last year it was Othmann, Berard, Sykora and to lesser degree Korczak.

The Rangers team itself has hit the skids but their overall player development is going strong.
