Pack signed Brandon Cutler to a PTO, probably for the time that Brodzinski is away.

He's a nothing. Looks like he was under contract to Utah in the ECHL and played a few games with AHL Belleville earlier in the year.
reasonable pro production for guy that young 22 next month, just 2nd yr pro, out of Major Junior, but he did play overage year

That might have been the best period the Pack had all year as the team takes a 3-0 lead with a shot advantage of 13-4. completely dominated the period.

Henriksson jumps on a loose puck and gets it back to Emberson who blast it home. Then the Pack score on the PP as Cuylle finds Fritz in the bumper who passes to Welinski who drifted down and scores. Then Cuylle steals the puck in the offensive zone, skates through two Phantom players and beats the goalie with a backhander. As Rodolfo said that was a beautiful goal.

Everyone looked good but in particular, Zac Jones was very active and created several turnovers, Cuylle was excellent, Henriksson with several good plays although a penalty, Pajumiemi active.

Notes from the game.

Whelan day to day, Gettinger week to week and Khodorenko out long term.
Cuylle-Fritz-Elson
Henriksson-Rydahl-Reuschhoff
Trivigno-Smith-Pajuniemi
GiGiacinto-Lohin-Rempe

Rempe with another fight.

Jones-Welinski
Scanlin-Giutarri
Robertson-Emberson

No scoring in the 2nd. Phantoms have 8 SOG after 2. couple of good chances for the Pack including Henriksson at the end of the period. Responsible defense and taking advantage of chances when they occur. Henriksson is impressive. Not saying he is an NHL player but he is very smart and quick. Playing both PK and PP.

Pack win 3-2. Thankfully there is a post and a couple of excellent saves by Domingue down the stretch to save the game. Domingue finishes with 15 saves.

Three stars: 3. Henriksson 2. Emberson 1. Cuylle. Henriksson active throughout the game. Cuylle excellent first period and then quiet last two periods.

Terrific first period and solid second period enough to get the win.

The Phantoms score at the beginning of the 3rd. On a defensive zone face-off, Rydahl loses the FO and then fails to cover a wide open Phantom player in the slot. The Phantoms score a 4-3 PP goal but game still under control. The Phantoms press in the last few minutes but didn't score.

Rempe will play in the NHL.

I recall Rempe after he was drafted and it was clear that he could actually skate and knew his role. He was looking to lay hits regularly and he was actually able to keep up for the most part. That's rare from an 18 year old kid who is 6'8. I think he sees a clear opportunity for a specific type of role moving forward. He isn't bereft of talent either in terms of playing the game.

What he needs to do is just keep playing that style while working on his overall strength and hands. There is nothing that says he couldn't develop into a nice 4th line player who can also drop the gloves when needed.

I made the same definitive statement about Conor Allen so be careful lol
LOL, me too. I really liked Allen. Though he was going to make it.

On Rempe, I think he will make it but not in any kind of lasting capacity. There is still an appetite in the NHL for behemoths that can fight. Rempe is obviously emphasizing the fighting component more and more and that's going to be part of what helps him. Here's the thing, though: while he has okay hands, he doesn't have any other NHL-caliber skills beyond his physicality. The skating isn't there (I wouldn't even say he's "good for a big guy") and that hurts. I mean he's a decent IQ guy and puts out a good effort, no doubt, and he will throw down and just throw hits. He'll park it in front of the net and do that thing. I just don't think the package is enough overall to stick or to make any kind of real impact.

Allen, Lampman, Baranka, and Immonen I all thought would make it somewhere. Potter and Guenin had solid NHL careers.

Will Cuylle with a shot from the op of the Left Circle to score the teddy bear toss goal at the XL Center in Hartford.
Wolf Pack leads 1-0 after one period of play.
I really like Cuylle’s game when I saw him live last week. He’s consistently around the puck and makes some strong plays. He looked the most NHL ready forward they have down there. Glad he’s still keeping up the consistency

Matt Rempe scores from the middle of the right circle. 3-0 pack with 4:19 to go in the 3rd.
Ty Emberson scored at the beginning of the third from just inside of the blue line with a blast of a shot.
