Sharks still w numerous D in camp
Ty being re-waived not unreasonable possibility
My first thought is of course for Ty to get and keep an NHL job.
If he does return I will be happy, for I believe after Jones (who plays both left side and right) that Emberson was the next in line to be called up if the Rangers needed someone to fill in.
Enjoyed his game last year in Hartford.

Ricky's post reminded me to check the career totals for this season's older guys on Pack
It does seem accurate that that they won't need to be watching how many vets dress for any games with current roster

Frequently Asked Questions
"What is the AHL’s development rule?
Of the 18 skaters (not counting two goaltenders) that teams may dress for a game, at least 13 must be qualified as "development players."
Of those 13, 12 must have played in 260 or fewer professional games (including AHL, NHL and European elite leagues), and one must have played in 320 or fewer professional games.
All calculations for development status are based on regular-season totals as of the start of the season."

Pack finish preseason 3-0

Exactly as meaningful and accurate predictor, of season and playoff success, as an NHL team going 1-5 in preseason

Glad to see Jonny back on the Pack. Team looks really strong this year. I was able to make it over for several games last year and moved up to northern Westchester this summer so hoping to get to quite a few now that I'm only about an hour+ away.

Shame he isn't getting a full time chance somewhere though. Feel he has a lot to offer a weaker club.

Digiacinto, Pekar, Barton to Cincy
EbUg Arvinitis back to Maine
Barbasev back to Shawinigan in Q, at least for now
I have high hopes for Pekar
seems a blend of Berard, Sykora, Trivigno, Othmann(not the shooting), Edstrom(not the height)
but respect RM/KK's choice to look closer at Worrad for now,

especially given Pekar's history (28 games, 13 goals, 24 points last season)
w Cincy, , as they kick off a transition season

will be interesting which 12 of 15 F's dress for game 1 Friday and #2 Saturday
Pro veterans(6): Brodz, Nash, Belzile, Lesch, Blidh, Elson
1 complete full pro NA season(4) : Trivigno, Henriksson, Rempe, Worrad
1st full pro NA season(5) : Othmann, Korczak, Berard, Sykora, Edstrom

of course if none/2 of Chytil, Laf or Pitlick can play Thursday\Saturday, there will be call-up(s)

I get what you are saying and somewhat agree- I had Barbashev going to Cincinnati but even if Korczak goes to Cincinnati , I would prefer the kid gets to play in Hartford. If assume Pekar and Diacinto are extra forwards in Hartford. That still leaves one of Elson, Leschyshyn and Nash as the odd man out in the 12 man line up.

Sykora, Brodzinski, Othmann
Berard
, Henriksson, Trivigno,
Blidh, Nash, Belzile
Edstrom, Rempe, ????? Elson/ Leschysyn

Berard, Edstrom, Henriksson, Othmann, Rempe and Sykora are our prospects that should be in Hartford.
Belzile, Blidh, Brodzinski and Trivigno are vets that should be there.
Thats 10 spots out of the 12 players dressing. One of Elson, Leschysyn or Nash is the odd man out. To me there is no doubt that it should be Leschysyn.

Not a fan of Leschyshyn as an NHL player at all. That doesn't mean he's not a pretty good AHL player. Lots of prospects don't pan out as NHL players or even as pretty good AHL players. The thing with someone like Korczak is how is he going to handle getting little playing time or only 4th line time in Hartford because it's going to be really difficult for him to break into the top 9. Look at a guy like Trivigno who was the top forward on an NCAA championship team and was scratched a number of times last year and the games he did play he was all over the lineup.

Does any other org have so many mystery guys ?

Kjellberg? Status unknown.

Pack signee Tristan Mullin? Unknown, not at Camp, Page removed from Pack site

Barbashev - present for Rookie, NYR, Pack camps, but near term future unknown

I doubt Rangers sign Barbashev. I bet they would have by now if they had interest of doing so. Stupid decision

Yeah there's no reason at this time to think they won't sign him. They were banking on being able to assess his progress this year in the Q before ultimately making that decision, but they were thrown a curveball by Shawinigan. Hopefully he finds a good place to play and develop this season and see where it goes.

San Jose's final roster includes Emberson. Team is going with 8 defensemen to start. That could change as the season starts and injuries mount.

That is less than a year away. They signed other prospects earlier then waiting until the last minute. I hope he gets signed but I think it’ll be a Grubbe issue and won’t want to be here.
Why are you so negative about everything? Relax man. Stop looking for problems and actually take the time to think before you post.

We signed Korczak after his D+1 season. Because his birthday is in January, he was eligible to play in the AHL in his D+2 season, but because he didn't stick there and went back to the WHL, you proceeded to call him a bust. By signing him a year early, we burned a year off his ELC, regardless of where he played.

Barbashev is in the same exact situation. He's eligible for the AHL in his D+2 season. So maybe waiting to sign him is the prudent thing. If they felt he had a chance to stick in the AHL, they could have signed him to an ELC. But since he's going back to the Q, it's better to wait until next year to sign him.

We have until June 1st, 2024 to sign him.

To me Barbashev had a pretty good D+1 season. Enough reason to sign him off that? I don't know. I probably would not have. I think I'd rather wait on that and see how this season turned out. I think that's what the Rangers decided to do too.
NYR already have 4 Forwards on 1st year of their ELC's
Max B wont be playing NHL this year
It makes way more sense to wait until March 1 to sign him, so his ELC begins next fall
The Grubbe scenario was mystifying to many of us, but those situations are rare.
And I don't see an outcome of Barbashev choosing to not sign an ELC when offered to him

The one thing with Grubbe is we moved him for another pick. That draft anyway was pretty mediocre as far as talent. Korczak was another from that draft and he's kind of really iffy to me too. I liked Grubbe better but still his upside is probably anywhere from Steven Fogarty to Blair Betts.

Barbashev had a pretty good year in the Q.....but he was like 5th on his team in scoring and there's lots of guys in the Q who were point a game players and he just missed. Most of those guys who did are not going to play even a few games in the NHL.
