Pack win 3-2. Lettieri puts Hartford up 3-0 with a very late empty net goal and then Springfield scores both its goals in the last two minutes of the game and another shot by the Thunderbirds goes off the post at the buzzer--whether it beat the clock or not--not sure.

Yep. Back to final.

I noticed Nell was the back-up. Something happen to Tokarski?

Bridgeport is owned by the Islanders and I'm not sure you knew this, but Webster Bank Arena will now be operated by Oak View Group, the same group that's redoing Seattle Center.... the Islanders bought Bridgeport upon the passing of Roy Boe, who had also run Worcester, before the League bylaw that states you cannot have interests in multiple teams in the same league, that's also why Kansas City and Orlando were never admitted back in 2001, and why Grand Rapids was approved.

Cool insights, thanks for sharing. When does the lease with Bridgeport and Oak View expire?

Unfortunately, Butler sucked. Beleskey has been up and down. Lindqvist left, and Andersson pouted after being sent back down. Gettinger was doing very well until his dreaded "upper body injury," and it's taken him until recently to really get back to form. Gropp seemed to regress offensively and Ronning isn't ready to play in the AHL. Hajek has had a tough adjustment, Bigras stagnated, O'Gara hasn't been as good as he should be, Day has done little until the past few weeks, and Crawley is meh. The goalies have underwhelmed, including Georgiev when he's down here.

It's why I'm more critical of the coaching than the roster construction. I think the roster was sufficient to win. Maybe they could have swung a trade for another 4A guy when they saw things were getting bad (instead we traded Schneider...). Otherwise, it just feels like another situation where McCambridge is like Company Man Ken in that he doesn't get anything more out of his players, just the bare minimum. No one exceeds expectations. Everyone hits them or falls short. A good coach can get his guys to play a little above their heads. I don't think McCambridge can do it.

When it's that many guys. You change the coaching.

You expect it to happen to a handful. But the Rangers have guys that should be hungry to make the NHL... and you need leadership to drive that. 4A's are there for insulation.... but that many guys not taking a step. It's management.

they just acquired the operating rights.... Bridgeport's next review on a lease extension is 2021-22, 2 years later than Hartford, since Bridgeport was founded in 2001, which I wouldn't be shocked has a framework agreement in place now how long that is as compared to a 20 year lease at present that is probably being privately discussed or if not soon will be once OVG takes control on the 28th or roughly a week from now.

from what I understand lease extension talks can happen anytime within 18 months of an expiration before it is publically released to any press or "insider", that doesn't mean a lease can be agreed to and then withdrawn 4 to 6 months later without sufficient cause, as Portland went through in 2013...

Pack trailing Providence 1-0 after 1 period. If anyone's wondering what happened to Lee Stempniak--he's the guy with the goal for Providence.

Ryan Lindgren got in a fight and was given a game misconduct--apparently something to do with his elbow pad. I'm thinking he was hitting the guy with it.

Halverson is in goal.

Was Lindgren hitting him with his elbow pads?

Was at the game last night to check out a couple of the Mariners who had been called up to Hartford..... Lindgren got the game because he's elbow pads came off during the fight.

Hartford looks very flat last night. They didn't have a lot a speed in the neutral zone. Both goals for the Wolf Pack came off defensive breakdowns that led to breakaways in the other direction. Halverson appeared to be sick in the third period. After every stoppage, he'd be on one knee with this helmet up with what appeared like had the dry heaves and even during game when play was at the other end he'd lift his helmet, hunched over looking like we was ready to throw up or having a hacking cough.

I do not know what the Rangers would do if Halverson couldn't go in Hartford. Tokarski is hurt which is why Nell was recalled from Greenville. Maine doesn't have anyone left. LaCouvee was signed to an AHL deal by Montreal and our backup is Hannu Toivenin

Plenty of ECHL goalies that can be signed to a PTO to backup Nell if needed. I recall the Pack even signed an emergency backup from a nearby CT FHL team, just to sit on the bench.

Pack ahead 3-0 after 2 periods today. Fogarty leading the way so far with 2 goals and an assist. Chris Nell is in net. Crawley returns to the lineup. Meskanen not playing.

Day also has 5 points and is a +4 in his last 5 games... could he finally be turning a corner? I think he's still a massive long shot to make the NHL, but it's nice to see

Meskanen is injured still.

I would bring back Fogarty. He looks like he figured out the AHL, and he can wear the C for them. If there's a need, he can also serve as a call up and not embarrass himself.

He still has decent skills, that if he learns to utilize, can certainly make him a good AHL player. I have my doubts about whether or not he has the hockey sense to play in the NHL but who knows at this point.
