This is dumb.
Thing is that we should compare what Lias did in in SuperElit, SHL, AHL and WJC in comparison to what others have done in the same Leagues at the same age, and when doing that he is right up there. He's a really good prospect and your logic is very flawed.
I do think he's sulking. I believe I was the first person to throw that out there. You shouldn't accept it as the gospel truth, though.Resorting to insults is not required. If he was such a good prospect he’d be in the NHL right now on a completely terrible forward group. He’s not and he remains buried in Hartford sulking and looking over marched. All you die hard supporters of this guy are just dreaming of what you want to think is possible.
Maybe this analogy will help— imagine racing against cars of similar speeds. At that level, it’s about how good the driver is because everyone is going at the same speed. Now imagine taking that same car and entering a race with cars faster than you. You still think you’ll win that race? Be competitive?
You can’t ignore skill set because his skills were good enough to put up good numbers at lower levels. To do so, is to completely disregard the progression of talent it takes to even be competitive at higher levels.
I could care less what Lias did against bad competition— he’s done nothing, if not regress this season, and being a young player who does not seem hungry is not a recipe for success.

Michael Keeley....Maine's PBP guy tweeted me back and said Ronning has a lower-body injury and is DTD.

Bye bye Marek Mazanec. We're left with Tokarski and Halverson for the rest of the Pack season.

well, Nell is still on a NYR contract
One thing about Andersson is that he is young. All these guys are. Not everyone is going to take demotion well. You have to wonder if he believed he was getting the call next and Nieves got it, then Lettieri got it. Howden got hurt, still no call up. Post draft he was touted as being "near NHL ready" and we're almost 2 years in and he can't crack the roster.
He's going to be on the team in a few weeks, Hayes gone, and who knows where Howden will be at that point. Chytil has been playing wing. Strome and Names can play wing. I'd put solid money Lias is up at the deadline and playing. If he still looks this way, then it's something in his head.
They burried his azz with ECHL Greenville (10W-14L-2SOL), who aren't even the affiliate of the NYR... Maine (who is the NYR/Pack affiliate) has 3 goalies (Lacouvee, Minney and Toivonen), none of which are NYR/Pack property.
Also, Hartford hosts Toronto.Reminder:
Mariners host Worcester tonight
Minney was placed on waivers to be released.
