Hello Coyotes fans,

What would it realistically take to get Hanzal off your team at the deadline? Considering his pending UFA status, he'd be a good rental if he's asking for too much or wants to leave Arizona.

First off, DD would have to be part of the trade for cap purposes. At this point he's nothing more than your traditional cap dump a la Olli Jokinen in the Franson/Santorelli trade.

Would DD + 2018 CHI/WSH/MTL 2nd rounder + 2017 MTL/WSH 2nd rounder be enough?

Hanzal will return a 1st plus. Weaker draft coupled with his size/skill combo I suspect there would be a bidding war. Starting point is the Vermette return from 2 deadlines ago.

I'd offer our first in 2017 plus Andrighetto. Hanzal is massive and would be a perfect 3rd line C for a cup run. Is he still as injury prone as his reputation suggest?

He had surgery in summer that we are hoping makes a difference. It's 2 games into season so nobody is running around saying "it's a miracle!"

When healthy Hanzal can be a dominant 200 foot player. The lineup will be long for potential suitors.

Hanzal is awful. Hes constantly hurt. He shows that glimmer of hope and then gets hurt. You don't want him

no way hanzal gets high end prospects. He could at best get a late first or a second. Habs dont need Hanzal unless they accept DD in return which I highly doubt.

Remember when John ****ing Scott cleared and you still got something back for him ?
Martin Hanzal > Jarred Tinordi

That deal was a Bettman-engineered swap of replacement-level players. Hanzal would be one of the top couple rentals on the market. Not comparable.

Martin Hanzal: worth about, maybe, a 2nd rounder

I love HF.

McCarron.

Hanzal is too much of a risk because of his injuries. McCarron is our top forward prospect. Our ask for McCarron would need to be a safer piece. Though I know you need RH forwards. Mitchell++ maybe?

May anything (except him and Sergachev) interest you in our org? Sherbak/Juulsen maybe?

1st + Sherbak or 2 2nds + Sherbak would be my offer.

There aren't many rentals this year, so it should be interesting to see what he'd get (I won't consider UFAs like Burns/Thornton/Marleau/Sharp as I'd expect their teams to be in the playoffs).

He's the type of guy any team would want in the playoffs and has a great contract, I think it'll take a lot to get him at the deadline.

Depends if they'd rather have prospects or picks.. or a combination of both.

I would personnaly like to see Hanzal at C while McCarron is his RW on the third line (like, maybe next year). So if possible I'd avoid trading McCarron.

juulsen isnt getting traded nor will hanzal commend Scherback and a first.

Hanzal is one of the better 2-way players in the league and would strengthen Montreals center depth by alot.

Lol-ing when a yotes fan agrees with me. Hahah clueless rofl. His injury issues + his salary + the fact he's a third liner would garner more than a first?? hahahha lol ok
Would it really strengthen our C depth?? Are u serious?? We already have Plekanec to do everything Hanzal can do. He would likely play on the Third line but as a fan of a team I follow, the Habs have enough depth to prevent them from making such bad trades. Big Mac, Danault, etc...

Which Coyotes fan is that? Hanzal on your third line allows you to run a strong top nine. Plekanec is getting up there in age and seemingly plays his worst in the playoffs. Hanzal is a strong center that can be utilized in match-ups. Every team in the NHL has that kind of depth and it isn't very special.

He's a 2nd line player without a doubt but you can't trust him because of injuries. Now you're dedicating cap space to a guy that you may or may not have in your lineup.

The player is serviceable, what he does to your teams cap and lineup are awful. Arizona is Ok to deal with it because they don't spend any money on players so for them, they're not going out and trying to replace his production when he gets hurt...
But if he's on a contender and you're trying to rely on his production to help your team, forget about it.
