Randy Cunneyworth coached Bulldogs was an AHLer contender: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues/seasons/teams/0007912011.html
Pacioretty and Desharnais had career years and were called up 25-35 games into season and the team still made it to the 3rd round of playoffs.
People keep saying Lefebvre is doing a good job because Gallagher and Bournival made NHL and Beaulieu looks like he's on the edge but it doesn't take a good coach to get 1st rounders and top prospects to the NHL. Cunneyworth got players to NHL and won games with a worse team on paper. We all know that he isn't exactly a good coach himself.
Lefebvre is working with a lot more NHL bound talent and the team has looked horrible on most nights. This is the worst 2 year stretch for the Dogs in their entire history of existence. No other coach has gone 2 seasons of the poor play. Not even Clement Jodoin and the horrible 11/12 team: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues/seasons/teams/0007912012.html
To be fair, MacIntyre and Sanford are good AHL goalies. Dawes is a good ahler and possibly better than St. Pierre.
The dogs suck and Lefebvre isn't doing well, but the team could be better with another good ahler 4 lyf and a good ahler 4 lyf dman.
Tinordi scratch today... anyone know why?
Probably being recalled by the Habs.
Good call. I didn't think of that. Trade deadline is approaching and I can see Bergevin dumping Murray if something is offered.
Or, will we keep both in the line-up for a playoff run?
Don't think Bergevin is going to "dump" a player he picked up for this time of the season. Murray isn't going anywhere.
I figured Beaulieu would get recalled.
Im pretty sure management didnt like his play with the Dogs during the Olympics break, he had an awesome first game, but it went down after that.. Personally Im ok with the decision, its part of the learning process and Beaulieu should be back soon enough..
It's hard to play NHL style hockey and travel 1st class, and be forced to play AHL slow hockey and travel 2nd and 3rd class...(and be paid accordingly)
