This is 1000% the upper end of what we could expect.

A hard first is great! Here's hoping Arizona misses the playoffs and we win the lottery twice this draft lol

It’s lottery protected. If they land top-3, then it moves to next year. Basically you are hoping they win the lottery twice.
it's only top three protected so it would still be ideal for the Devils for them to miss the playoffs. if they make it then hope they make it to the 2nd round

The first is the piece in this trade. You hit on it, you did fine. You don't hit on it, this will be a very ugly trade looking back on.

I am good with this. I would've like some help now. But this isn't terrible given the circumstances

Imagine Arizona misses the playoffs and we end up winning 1st and 2nd pick in the lottery? I know it’s unlikely but I like to dream...

I am actually pleased, thought it was just gonna be a first and Bahl.

Schnarr can be a good depth guy.

Merkley has been derailed by injuries which is why his stats have been down. There is potential there.

Bahl is the big good skating dman we need if he develops.

So we basically traded Larsson for a 1st, conditional 1st (or 2nd/3rd), a dman similar to Larsson and two forwards with some potential.

That’s fine with me. Nice to turn the page and I am sure the team feels the same way.

Avs fan here. You guys should be thrilled with that return. I would not have been okay with my team giving up that much.

Sucks to lose your star, but a return like that for a rental is huge. Well done! Your squad is going to turn things around quickly. This allows you to move on.

This is the biggest return ever for a rental in the cap era.

Because people talked themselves into expecting someone's jewel like Byram or Chych. It was always going to be a quantity deal, it was just a matter of how much quantity.

This is true lol. How any of that nonsense took off, I really don’t know. Whatever the case, it’s better than nothing and we’ve been on the nothing end of the stick far too many times.

The first and third are the only real assets. The rest isn't much better than Speers really.

You couldn’t get any one of those guys for 3 of Speers, probably. Guy has 1 point in 10 games this year after a mediocre prior season.
