Who has been the league's best rookie UP TO NOW? (not who you think it will be at season's end)
Wolf is eligible because he meets all the criteria...Voted Hutson, but honestly all 3 of Hutson, Celebrini and Michkov are close. it'll come down to the 2nd half who wins.
I don't get why Wolf is even eligible to be honest. He played games last year, and the year prior too. Seems weird. I'd still have him 4th at best.
Wolf is having a great year, idk that he’ll be able to pass either of celebrini or Hutson…. But I think he def deserves top 3Wolf is eligible because he meets all the criteria...
He is also 13-6-2 with a 2.60 GAA and .914 Sv % on a team that is bottom 5 in goals scored.
What he is doing, as a rookie, is remarkable.
If the Flames make the playoffs and continue the abysmal offensive production they have put out the last couple of months, and Wolf's numbers continue... I don't see how it isn't him.My top 5
Demidov
Celebrini
Hutson
Wolf
Michkov

I really want Hutson to win, but given what Wolf is doing on a not very good team as a below average goalie in terms of size i have to go with him and Celebrini 2nd, Hutson 3rd.
Celebrini and Hutson are doing well, but its even more hard to have this impact on a game as a rookie goalie.
Yes, Wolf is like 3-5 years older than the players eligible that are up there, but it's still really impressive and would get my vote.

This is the problem for Wolf in that he's going to be in tight to even play in the low 50s.To be clear, I'm not saying he's not having a very season, I just think the criteria is stupid. He played in two different seasons already, so I don't think he should be eligible. This isn't a dig at him, just at the criteria. I similarly thought it was stupid for Panarin to win at age 24 for example.
As for Wolf - right now he's on pace for 44 games played. If all of Celebrini, Hutson and Michkov have strong 2nd halves, I think 44 games will be too low. I think he'll have to play closer to ~50 games to have a shot at winning the Calder. Which is still possible, but we'll see.
Right now I still have him 4th (maybe 3rd now, with Michkov going pointless in 12 of last 14 games).
