Worst part of the game was the 4-5 Ranger fans who actually thought the Rempe hit was worth the major and game misconduct. So sad. He was low the whole time and went for a hit to a player who was eligible to be hit. Players aren’t expected to duck if they are too big for the league.

I'm one of them. I wouldn't be surprised either way in regards to a suspension, but that was worth the 5 tonight.

Sure, but from what I can tell, he had the ability to not make a hit to the head, and did. To me, given the danger of head injuries, I do not think it is something that should be legal.

He didn’t leave his feet, didn’t throw out an elbow, change course during the play (skated in a straight line), didn’t charge, bastian had his head down. Was it a major? Potentially. Was it a match penalty? No. He didn’t aim for the head. As a matter of fact he never at any point looked like he made an attempt to go for the head.

There's video on TSN that shows the play from far out and on the other side of the ice. I think he had time to slow down, there is a good 20 or so feet of distance, which was why my initial reaction to it was a charge.
