I anyone else getting tired of watching Chytil try to stick handle through all 5 players when he carries the puck up the ice to only turn it over at the blue line and cause the play to go the other way. He rarely passes the puck and on every odd man rush he is always shooting the puck even when it’s a low percentage play. He needs the dump the puck in and go after it on the forecheck. It’s exhausting watching him turn it over all night

Krieder also has no business being out 3 on 3.

So many other players should be out there over him
He definitely has some ugly moments but I'm generally okay with it because the rest of the team is pretty much incapable of moving the puck on their own.

It's nice seeing someone not trying to just pass the puck when there's more than enough room to take it up the ice yourself.

Edit: This is also why I wanted to see Jones play more...he could move the puck on his own.

I agree with you about him taking it up the ice. But he needs to know when to dump the puck in because he is not going to be able to stick handle through all 5 players. He loses the puck off his stick every rush.

I think people are conflating a very good ceiling or a very good player at his best with a very good player. Igor at his best rivals Hank. His consistency is just not good. That's why 11.5M is ridiculous.
he's also not clutch. He can have a 45 game amazing performance but give up a soft GWG. No the whole game is not his fault but i'd prefer him to make the big important saves

Also, this is one of the main issues I'm seeing with Laf this season. Last year, especially in the playoffs, he just seemed to have the confidence to take the puck himself and try and make a play to score or draw a penalty. This year he just sees to want to pass it all the time.

He has the ability to skate with the puck and make people miss but for whatever reason he's just not doing it.

Last year we scored 166 goals in 82 games 5v5 (natural stat trick) at 2.02 gpg, good for a tie of 19th in the league
So far this year we are 92 in 46, so exactly 2 gpg and tied for 15th

So despite going through a complete meltdown for a month and a half we are no worse than last year on offense 5 on 5?

I've been making this point since the Tampa series. It was very weird to see the guy go from unbeatable in 55 minutes to forgetting to play hockey on some weak goal with 5 minutes to go. There was more than just one game in that series like that but the one that jumps out was game 6 when we tied it late, a game that had no business being tied. He was heroic that game and then next shift gives up a goal where you just think someone else was in his body.

That said he has a lot fewer downright stinker games in the playoffs than Hank. Somehow he HAS upped his game mostly in the playoffs and in some ways has been more consistent than Hank in the playoffs who frankly was up and down and worse in the playoffs than the regular season. But given his inconsistency in the regular season and his absolute anti-clutchness in the playoffs I wonder if it's not just a sample size issue.

The first half of the season they used Bonino (often in the top 9) who was probably the worst forward in the league and made any offense impossible. The combo of him and Goodrow was a war crime
