Why can’t he choose not to wear something? I can’t understand your religious beliefs just like I don’t know what it’s like to be black or be gay. Choosing not to wear a jersey because it’s against your religious beliefs is pretty harmless.

Not saying he’s a good guy because I don’t know him but I don’t think not wearing a jersey during warmups makes him an idiot.

If I said I can’t wear pants because there’s a gnome in my backyard who told me so, I’d be sent to a mental institution. But if I call the gnome god instead, it's great and I deserve to be respected?

Homophobes will never deserve my respect and I will keep on calling them every word I want to.

I just got to say that Justin Barron is quickly establishing himself as a Top 4 D.
People on this board are way way way way way too quick to bust kids. Lafreniere is slowly having a good start of the season. He had a pretty good game tonight. People should not assume anything whatsoever when the kids are 18-19. Between 20-22 still should not assume anything about the ceiling just the floor i.e. will he be a NHLer or not. Then starting at 23 this is where you want to start seeing the ceiling materialize.

Way too many people around here are acting like they are paid 5 millions a year by a NHL team to scout kids. Dunning Kruger effect in full motion. Nobody here has the skills to know what a kid will become until he is around 23. This board has been very painful to read this year tbh.

Great f***ing game guys. Love watching our boys win live!

Cole = money in ot

Nick's gotta bury some of those breakaways. Darn posts.

Slaf locked good IMHO.

Guhle is so poised.

Money is money.

Newhook looks teeny tiny out there.

For the wings, I had no idea how fast Larkin is.

Back to Habs. Primeau was money.

Fun game overall!

Do we need to find Suzuki's and Caufield's 3rd wheel, or Caufield's centre?
It's funny how the answer to both questions can be Dach.
And we already have him.

So really, we have to find a star left handed winger can that play RW when called upon.
They drafted Slaf
They traded for Newhook

But it still feels like they need to target someone else also
Luckily we have the ammunition for whenever that moment comes

It still feels like they need to acquire their best player.

See now this IS interesting
I cannot argue Suzuki didn't look BETTER without CC tonight, I have to admit it

But then goal aside, CC obviously couldn't do much with the corpse of Dvorak centering him..

Which only leads to more pain at the thought of what Dach and Caufield would look like together...
Cc would be great with Dach. They could try him with Monaghan too.

To add to this

That's Caufields 7th OT goal for the habs

The Canadiens team record is 10 lol........
(Howie Morenz.... and Max f***ing Paccioretty I did not realize lol)

Caufield started an 8 year deal THIS season lol..
Like holy shit dudes, strap in
To be fair though, OT three on three is something totally new.

But yeah… who cares? The guy is absolutely money in OT.

Matheson was the best player on the ice. Hard to believe how many here are sour on this player. One only has to compare Matheson’s impact to Petry’s. Great trade.

I mean if Matheson played like that more often and not once every 5-6 games , nobody would say anything like nobody is saying anything on Guhle or Monahan gameplay

Have the Habs had any video review go their way this year?

I think I've seen or heard of 4 reviews so far, and they all went against Montreal.

Caufield is gold in overtime. Makes third game he scored in overtime this season. We only 13 games in. Primeau looked solid. Didn't give up many rebounds. Usually key for goalies. Matheson with 3 points. Nice bounce back game. I think he was trying to do too much before.

I think what you’ve said is unkind and insulting toward Christianity - comparing believing in God/the Bible to worshipping a gnome in your backyard.

I don’t believe in excluding anyone but I do believe in respecting others. Ironically, you are labeling someone a homophobe and then in the same breath mocking someone’s religious beliefs. Neither is something to aspire to.

That’s kind of why it would’ve been nice to draft Michkov. Kent Hughes, Marty, and Co are clearly waaaaaay more knowledgeable than I am but I’m still confused by the Reinbacher pick when it seems like Forwards are a bigger need.

Matheson overall has been very good with the habs. I don't recall his fumbling being a talking point at all last season. He's had less as time has gone on and its still very early in the year.

Statline w/ Montreal: 61GP: 11G 33A 44P = 59.1pt pace. That's strong enough production from a D man where you live with the bobbles and fumbles. And IMO his mistakes are coming from wanting to get really fancy with things and trying too much. I think his skating can get ahead of his hands and he's starting to iron that out a bit. But regardless the production is there and its making up for the gaffes.

Petry w/ Montreal: 658GP 98G 178A 276P = 34.4pt pace. Even if you remove his down seasons, he's still peaking at 40-45 pts. That's great from a D, but its not the same quality of contribution that Matheson is bringing.

There are definitely things Petry can do better than Matheson, but overall Matheson is producing more and its simply easier to live with his warts than it was with Petry. I look forward to Guhle and others reducing his minutes as time goes on, MM will thrive being an offensive specialist with less defensive responsibility.
