Lol at the this Detroit team being 2nd in the Atlantic division. There is only a 3 point differences between position 2 and 6 with Detroit (and Lighting in 3rd) having played more games.
Such is the impact of parity. With the advent of the salary cap and free agency, the gap between the haves and have nots is narrowing. And the time it takes to become a 'have' is shortening. It would not be surprising if we improve, even markedly, and still end up drafting in the top 10. Maybe even higher.

The Primeau we saw tonight was the Primeau we saw in Laval when he was on top of his game. Laval went on a long playoff run 2 seasons ago and Primeau was outstanding.

It was nice to see him so composed, controlling rebounds.
The one issue I always had with Primeau was his inability to handle pucks but tonight that wasn't an issue.

After tonight I am convinced he would not clear waivers.
I agree. I have no faith in Dobes who, in my view, is the most clumsy, unathletic goalie we have had since Steve Penny.

With Matheson playing almost half of each game it would appear that the coaches view Matheson as currently playing the best hockey of his career.
That depends how much one believes there is a meritocracy in place and how trustworthy coaches’ assessments are.

One must also bear in mind that he’s one of few vets on D, so he gets a longer leash.

Further, Matheson has been struggling mightily in the 12 games prior to the last 2 and a view of his game logs shows that he had a string of 7 games during that span where he was logging 24+, 25+, 26+ and even up to 28:03 minutes.

Goal can go in off any part of the body as long as it wasn't used to direct the puck in.

The puck hit his hand and went in, in no way can you see Fischer propel his hand toward the puck causing it to go in the net. Therefore, legal goal.

It's the same if the shot came from the point and deflected off the screening forward's hand and went in the net. It counts.
I thought he did, in fact move his arm toward the net..............

Caufield settled the matter in OT, so I am good.

Why is Armia playing instead of Ylonen?
The real question is why he's not getting more icetime. Plain moronic not to utilize him when the guy has more talent than Anderson, Gallagher, Pearson, Slaf and Newhook combined. Ylönen shouldn't even be in the NHL.

I will show some patience with Dobes for at least this season. Hopefully he starts showing some good things.

I may have to start realizing that Ylonen just isn't an NHL player. Not every pick pans out. I was really high on him but that has changed.

OMG, Armia has skill but not talent. Anyone who would play Armia over Slaf and Newhook on a rebuilding team needs their head examined.

No wonder such an individual is already to call Ylonen a non-NHLer

Pride Night is a message to say everyone is welcome in sports building. Homophobes decided it was political to hide the fact that they're homophobes. Religion, politics, extremists, not accepting to wear blue on Tuesdays, gnomes, they're all miserable excuses.

There are a million themed nights in pro sports but idiots/haters only want this one to be banned. Like I said, it's not about religion or politics, it's about homophobia, transphobia, etc. That's why having Pride Night is important.

I'll keep on thinking Reimer is an idiot. That's how that conversation started, so you can just carry on.
Unfortunately it's people who think sexual orientation has to be front and centre that's the problem.

Matheson is a top4 offensive d-man being asked to play the role of a #1 Dman. Of course he's not going to live up to those expectations and make a ton of errors in the process.

In an ideal world, the habs have the defensive depth to put Matheson in the right chair so that his defensive lapses could be mitigates and be excused by the offensive side he brings.
Shades of Brisebois, whom the fans savaged as well.

Nobody cares what you do in your bedroom, just don't rub your lifestyle in my face. Imagine if we had a heterosexuals' night, the left would have a melt down. Nobody cares and they shouldn't, I don't know why the gays have to constantly make it an issue.

The gays and the left. Noted.

Have you ever been harassed, threatened or assaulted just for being heterosexual? Maybe that’s “why the gays have to constantly make it an issue”?

I am going to guess no and assume this is why you have no idea why the 2 things shouldn’t be compared.

I stopped posting in the third period and focused on watching the game. It was good to see Primeaux get the win, he deserved it, best game he has played in a Habs jersey. Someone commented during the GDT that he looked like Price last night and I agree, his movements were more efficient and he played a more relaxed style looking ready for shots before they came as opposed to simply reacting to them. The lines looked more balanced with CC with Dvorak as well, and they can play a structured game after all, they looked more like a team to these old eyes lol.
We match up well against Detroit. We will look crap again against the next team that presses us to the wall and stands us up in the neutral zone.

People forget the goal against us last year that was called back because of a hand pass in very much the same type of situation. In that case the review clearly showed a hand to puck motion not a dead deflection. I'm not sure where the confusion comes from.

What does that matter?

The standards for playing the puck with a high-stick and scoring a goal with your stick in the air is different, too.
He's wrong though.
