Habs vs Wings

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
  • Live threads are back for GDTs, if your thread isn't live report it and a mod will turn it up.
At this point in time, I think the answer is pretty clear cut

The Habs are already ahead in the standings, and this is without our second best defenseman (Guhle), who has a season ending injury.

Next year he'll be back, with freakin' Demidov and maybe Reinbacher too
Reinbacher’s looking great this year. Understand the excitement, no doubt he’ll win the calder.

What about 4 weeks ago when Detroit was ahead in the standings? Was it clear cut in the opposite direction back then?

Insane how much stock people put in winning and losing streaks of very similar teams. Montreal and Detroit have the same number of wins and the difference between the two teams is 3 OT losses for Montreal. And that's with the recent 3-10 run for Detroit.

Difference is, we're supposed to be 1 or 2 years behind the Red Wings, in the rebuild timeline

The fact that the Wings are still where they are is a problem IMO

You can disagree with that but then you'd be wrong

I agree it’s a problem. I just don’t agree you’re ahead. That’s it.

You have Demidov, Hage, Reinbacher and Fowler coming, we have ASP, Buchelnikov, Danielson, and Augustine/Cossa coming. The teams are extremely close.
