Says you and I totally disagree I don't know too many people who think otherwise except for you.
Where do they have an advantage? Habs defense is better. Goaltending is a sawoff. Top 6 forwards are close - edge Tampa. Tampa's bottom 6 is crap. Habs are about the same.

Their RD blows ours away Their LD is tough and experienced and they are very strong down the middle. They have a proven #1 goaltender. To claim that a team that has scored 23 more goals than us and has given up 27 fewer goals than us doesn't have more talent requires some special kind of eyewear.

RD raddish, Perbix, crottier .. our RD is actually better lmao.

I agree with what your saying tho. But
Our team is on a upward trajectory . We have the talent to compete with the best teams now. Big test tomorrow

Crozier, Lilleberg, Raddysh Perbix are all mediocre. Only MocDonagh and Hedman have talent

From StatMuse: Andrei Vasilevskiy has a record of 15-2-2 in 19 games with a goals against average of 1.98 and a save percentage of . 935 versus the Canadiens in his career.
He owns us, I'd change it up and give Dobes a go at this.
Habs have been shit most of that time though. And Vaseline has not been as good this season. Starting a goalie they haven't seen might be an idea though.

If we want to somewhere this year in PO, we need better than Dvorak. Is it Beck, Kapanen or someone we get by a trade, I don't know but Dvorak is one of the passenger in that team. Everybody else move their body but not Dvo. He doesn't even a good % in FO and it was supposed to be his specialty.

But my point to the other poster was we don't really need Michkov with the quality of wingers we have if Demidov comes next season. And one day people will realise Reinbacher is an excellent D.

Dvorak is 55.3 % on faceoffs, which is great.

A 4th line center is also not the difference between between missing the playoffs or making it.

His stats are better than last year, and very comparable going back 10 years. He's just one of those goalies that always seems to have your number.

LOL only Lilleberg is unproven out of that group. We just don't match up to them talent wise. We will eventually but we aren't there yet. You also forgot JJ Moser and Erik Cernak
I was looking at tonight's roster. Habs certainly are more talented on defense than Tampa. eLss experienced though so it might be a year or 2 before they are clearly better.

I rarely watch tampa. I was just going by posters who said he hasn't been quite as good this season.

TB lost to Leafs. If we beat them & Ottawa beats the Rangers tomorrow, Senators move into #3 spot & TB gets dragged into the mess of the wild card spot.

Only if Toronto beats TB today but knowing the Leafs they''ll lose in OT just to pisses us off 😀

Yeah that was my mistake. I forgot Tampa was playing at the time.... but they lost in regulation so the post ended up being accurate.

Every game rds shows the lines and Dvorak is the 3rd line center. Evans is the 4th line center.
It's not just making the playoffs, it's winning a round or 2,
Habs fans deserve better than Dvorak. He's barely an nhler, he's mediocre.
I guess Hughes tryed to trade him and I guess there was no taker. This year Dvo played all the games without injuries, we can say he did some good things but that's not enough. We deserve better. We have to compete the Bruins and the Leafs, etc.

Its a bit ridicule to talk about making moves to go far in the playoffs when the team is far from locked to even make the playoffs, and if they do make the playoffs it would be a massive achievement and far exceed the expectations the team had coming into this season. Also, like I said, the 4th line center isn't going to be the difference maker. If the habs win a round or 2, its highly unlikely that the 4th line center would play a major role for it.

Dvorak is the habs center who averages the least ice time. He averages a whole 1 minute less than Evans.

How is it jumping the gun? He doesn't get the starters job, nobody does.. they keep playing as they keep winning. If Dobes loses on Tuesday, Monty gets the next net.

It's a completely fair situation when the younger goalie is playing hot and winning games. You don't just leave that on the bench. If you want to establish a meritocracy, that's what you do.

It's healthy competition. No one gets a start they didn't earn.

If that happens to be Monty getting on a another run, I don't think that would be great in the big picture. One of the reasons they had to call up dobes is because Monty was being run into the ground, and he remains one of the most used goalies in the league.

I say alternate 50/50 for now but still keep some semblance of a 2 goalie system moving forward, regardless.

I will repeat myself : we deserve better than Dvorak. I see that Habs fans are accustomed with mediocricy, the result of more than 30 years without a cup. Bruins fans don't think like that and their team have excellence every year. They compete, they are serious, while in Montreal we are happy just to have an nhl team. We are somehow satisfied with Dvorak making good plays once in a while and scoring almost 10 goals a year and with an horrible minus stat. But hey that's alright, he's just a 4th line center, at this position it's not important at all. No need to improve there.
