Times have changed. Back in the day, Lindros would get clear headshots and clotheslines and it would be called good hockey plays. Today Scott Stevens would get 20+ games. It’s now the guy that delivers an open ice hit to a rushing 240 pounder that has a serious danger of a concussion. This time the other guy got stung. But at the higher levels, he'll face guys that know how to brace for those big hits.
If a monster like Lindros got caught with an open ice hit in the middle and his career went downhill after that, then it can happen to Slaf.
Beck is a darkhorse? Since when lol?Im happy both of my darkhorse prospects scored, Heineman and Beck
He's just not strong enough right now.Kidney was always where he needed to be I thought.
I was just blown away by the comment at some point 'il tricotte.... et manque de laine'. (He knits... and not enough yarn) Pouhahaha, that was golden.I really enjoyed the play by play as I mentioned earlier. This Goulet dude impressed me. I’d like to hear him on a first class production with some actual game sound.
These 2 are really good and I like how dynamic and assertive Mesar is. He's a real player. All of them need seasoning but we've got some legit A grades in the farm now. That's really cool. I had such a hard time getting excited about Hudon and the likesIm happy both of my darkhorse prospects scored, Heineman and Beck
I was at the game and thought slaf was the best player on the ice. What I saw from Slaf.
He is really big on the ice and his line was often in the offensive zone. He is a dominant presence and can make thing happen on his own.
He is behind the play a lot and when the puck is on his stick, does not seem to know where his teammates are most of the time. He made a lot of bad passes that were to either to no one or that put his teammates in bad situations, the last buffalo goal comes to mind.
He look really slow even in a rookie tournament. That is not a good thing. He seem to have a bid tendancy to look at the puck when he’s playing. Nearly got caught real bad 3 or 4 times.
Did not see his shot tonight. Each he took one, it looked like a muffin.
I felt like he looked as much a project as Galchenyuk and Kotkaniemi did but it is just 1 game.
He’s got really good hands and when the puck is on his stick, it is really hard to remove it from him. He is definitively making place on the ice for his teammates.
That's a name I haven't heard in a loong timeMesar is definitely going to be the next Plekasex
What convinced you of that?I was at the game and thought slaf was the best player on the ice.
Well, can we wait 30 games before making a statement?Lmao Wright didn't f***in score 2 goals tonight. Stop spreading that rumor boys. Maybe he scored 2 goals in practice but certainly not a rookie tournament game.
I don't know what game you watched but Slaf was the best player on the ice. He made some mistakes (like on the GWG) but he was all over the ice so I don't know how you can call him really slow. What I saw from Slaf.

The combination of speed, hands, power, shot, and finesse at his size is a rare breed that you rarely see with sometime that age. I know why he went 1st. He wasn’t slow, there were many times he would explode through center ice. What convinced you of that?
