Jeez. Someone mentioned that the Sabres had 5 out of 16 picks between rounds 1 and 3 since 2019 in the tournament? If they had their whole pool they would have thrashed us.

End of game... need to win the faceoff. Beck wins both of them!

During the game, did anyone notice that both Mysak and Beck completely switched handedness for faceoffs on their weak side? Beck was holding his stick like a lefty, and Mysak like a righty.

Barron started slowly but he picked it up as the game went on. Smooth skater.
Pretty quick to throw a promising prospect under the bus aren't ya?
He made tons of terrible plays in the third period. Nothing that I saw was positive there.

When I slaf cutting in the middle with his head down and the Sabres guy coming across I thought it was gonna be a violent collision that Slafkovsky wouldn't be on the good end of it.

But he barely moved lol the other guy got noodled for a quick second cause it clearly didn't end up as planned.

Mysak had zero chemistry with his line mates. Beck and Heineman were excellent and that line was by far the most dangerous and consistent. Slaf showed some great tools but I want to see him ending more plays. Norlinder and Barron were getting better and better as the game progressed. I think we can see some real potential with the proper tweaks. Kidney is going to drop like he did with Team Canada IMO. Roy can be an important piece going forward even with his skating.

As logic would dictate. They've been bottom of the league for years.

Yeah Kidney is the definition of a long term project

Damn I wish Mailloux was healthy
Come on, you can't dialyze a guy like that after one game! He needs to have a couple of chances at least. He could be able to clean up the waste, and add some new blood to the roster either in the AHL or NHL. He may not be the most important prospect, but he could be a vital organ down the road. Either that or we will have to transplant him somewhere else.

I know Barron started slowly but I would argue that there wasn't a smoother skater on the ice from either team. Honorable mention to Jordan Harris.

I really enjoyed the play by play as I mentioned earlier. This Goulet dude impressed me. I’d like to hear him on a first class production with some actual game sound. :sarcasm:
