Large bodied defensemen that can skate with good hockey IQ are a nice thing to have.....hopefully he works out well for the Rangers.

Rangers rebuild really shouldn't take that long at all.....your guys play hard, regardless of the opponent or standings, and they have a nice crop of players who should move this franchise to playoff caliber sooner than later.

Only concern from what I can see is....who replaces King Henrik?
Is Georgiev the real deal, or do they have someone else in the pipeline? Or are they gonna have to find someone to take this team to a title in a few years?

Georgiev might be a league average goalie with some more development. Shestyorkin is the possible replacement and one of the best goaltending prospects around. They have a few other guys in college who might be good.

The Rangers biggest issue is lack of real high end talent and their D honestly still isn't good. They need at least 2 more quality pieces on defense and for someone like Kravtsov to be a big homerun pick

Shesterkin’s most likely going to come over from the KHL in the offseason, he’s got as much of a claim as the best goalie prospect in the world is anyone and is probably the best bet for life after Lundqvist, but goalies are weird so the Rangers have a bunch in the pipeline. At worst Georgiev has shown he can at least play well in NHL games, whether as a full on starter or just a backup is yet to be seen

On those wraparounds.....you just KNOW the goaltender will get the pads down along the ice.....why not hold onto the puck.... fade AWAY from the net, slam on the breaks and blast away?

Most of the time you're getting leaned on by a defenseman or just plain don't have time to hold on, fade away, slam on the brakes, etc etc. Plus the goalie is probably across and in position by the time you do that so you don't have a ton to shoot at

Agreed goalies are difficult to gauge.
Steve Yzerman did the same with the Lightning....all kinds of goalies in the system, traded for a bunch more, some were merely AHL fodder, but along the way, he found Bishop then Vasilevskiy.
