Like Matheson and Dach?

It's like having a hot streak at bat, you're hitting over .300 and then....let's just say that the more reclamation projects you claim the greater the probability of slumping you average.

Let's just hope HuGo are not simply a one trick pony act...

Evans is proven to be unproductive...next one up...maybe Anderson or a guy like Maxime Comtois.

Well if we bat .000 on the reclaimation projects we pay nothing for, and .750 on the ones we gave up assets for, I'd say we're doing well.

I'm actually still disapointed we missed out on Valimaki and Tolvanen...

We wouldn't be getting Kravtsov with the 1st pick either.

The point would be moot.

Most people were arguing that Michkov would probably stay in Russia for a long time (at least 3 years). Kravtsov did exactly that. It's not about the price, it's about the argument.

It's been the common theme with HuGo from the start when you look at their most notable deals.

Dach
Monahan
Newhook

I don't quite put lias on the same boat because I think the plan for him is to be a key laval cobtributor with spot call up duty.

I hope this isn't the culture Hughes was talking about at draft
“Lias’ flicking motion toward the stands is the mark of a winning culture. It’ll serve him well whenever he’s named first star and has to fling pucks to fans.”

Hopefully it's not the quantity versus quality approach. He's probably just low-cost tinkering for now hoping to hit a home run but I think within one or two years when we're closer to being competitive and dumping some bad contracts he'll hopefully be more aggressive.

The snark about "reclamation projects" is dumb. It's a two-way deal for him to be our AHL 1C, Laval needs a ringer for all of the forwards we're going to have coming through the system. Sure, there's probably a bit of hope he could maybe play in the NHL bottom six but this is really just a generic AHL/two-way deal for a good AHL scoring F.
