Pre-Game Talk: Habs @ SENS, Friday 7pm

Washington is much deeper and scary opponent than Leafs. Underdog in any scenario but feel this is a low key huge 2 points to maintain current standings. Then the last games are focused on rest.

I think now that we’re in, if you’re a Sens player you go in with your eyes closed and you give it all you got and don’t look at who you’re facing.

I would love to face the Leafs to re-ignite that rivalry and make it more interesting league wide but othwerwise all teams we face will be a major challenge, including Toronto.

I say we should not worry about who we face. Try to clean up our own game for the rest of the season, rest some key guys that are dealing with injuries, try to break some player slumps (I.E. Stutzle) and have everyone confident going in. Reinforce playing the right way.

When you start worrying about who you’ll face you’re already having a flawed thought process IMO. Come in guns blazing and give it all you got, and learn along the way. That’s all we can ask for. If this team gives it all they have and lose in 4 I’ll be proud regardless. Love this team.

Leafs are by far the best matchup, but Washington is probably the next best.

Leafs winning tonight means we likely avoid the Florida teams in the 1st round, which is excellent news.

Leafs are scarier than the Caps. I'm hoping the habs pass us.

Rest as many as you can at this point. Throw Hamonic back in. 😂

I would rather we rest some of our guys. It is a meaningless game for us but it MUST WIN for the smurfies. So, let them win.

I would rather play the leafs than the capitals. Let's beat Montreal! The Leafs won so they are further ahead into 1st. 4 games left, we probably have to win 2 or 3 games to keep pace.

Hopefully Brady can come back after this game and get a bit of a runway headed into the playoffs. He's the player I'm least worried about if his first game back is in round 1 because we know what he'll bring but it would still be nice to give him a couple of games to re-adjust.

Gaudette's favorite song is "One of these things is not like the others"

surprised jensen has a regular spot considering staios said they were looking at letting him sit to rest up. I guess it wont happen until we lock up WC 1 and until that 3rd division spot is out of reach

I wouldn't read too much into it at this point

The problem I think we're going to have is finding a center to replace him with. I don't think the coaching staff sees Cousins or Highmore as options at center, which means we're stuck with him it seems...

Maybe we call up Halliday or Jenik for the playoffs, too bad we had to give up Ostapchuk to get Zetterlund.

I think we are stuck with him and they continue to try to manage the downside like they have been.

Cousins vs Highmore coming out is likely more of a thing and the team could have given themselves some options that could influence that by trying someone else on the PK e.g. Amadio for that not to be the deciding factor. It would not have been a bad idea to give Highmore some reps at the dot as well to see if that is an option. They have the opportunity to experiment in the next 4 games we will see if they do. For those spots they should know who the next man up is anyway.

I don’t know the cap implications, but against Montreal I would sit both Tkachuk and Stutzle if Cousins is a go. Stu always has a target on him, Montreal openly called him a diver and always goes extra at him. Couple that with Stu being good but frustrated in his ability to shoot and it could be a recipe for disaster.

Rotate Gilbert and, I think I need a shower after this, Hamonic while giving Jensen, Chabot, Sanderson, and/or Zub some rest and recovery time.

Regardless, I would love nothing but a thorough beatdown of the Scabs, but not at all expense. Gotta make sure the players are as healthy as possible and ready to go come playoffs.

Ole ole my ass, Go Sens GO!

Cousins is back? Excellent.

Jensen should sit.

I read this as:

"Ok Nick Cousins, playing right defence isn't as hard as it looks. Tell him Mike."
