that's fair given the playoffs he had.

1 point in the 11 games combined we played against Vegas and Tampa. 8 points in 22 games overall - that's a 30 point pace over 82 games.

He's an ok player offensively, but good in CERTAIN defensive situations, the pk, and at gaining and maintaining puck possession. And we do need the size.

I'm not crazy about this 3.4M AAV. But hopefully he can continue to improve, as he's been doing.

Why on earth do you want to lock in for 4 years at $3.4 million per a guy that only shows up 30% of the time and is invisible the other 70%?

Another idiotic signing that we will end up putting on waivers.
Because he is good and that it is his market value...

AAV is higher than I would like, but overall I'm happy he's back.

I think he's the kind of player that could still improve deep into his career. Even if he doesn't though he's a useful player to have.

Now go sign Kotkaniemi long term.

No, he is not ...having a good game every blue moon does not make him good.
LOL. Obviously. The only NHL player that is having good game mostly every game is getting paid 12.5M and would probably command way more on the open market. The rest of nhl players are also streaky as f***..
Lower your expectation. Pacioretty was as streaky as you can get it does not mean he was a bad player.

He is worth that amount based on his history.

Thought that includes Weber so closer to $18M in cap space.

As for Armia, I don't mind it. A little high $ but not terrible if he gets the ice time to show more of what he can do.

so 18M to sign 3dmen (a #1/3/4, a #6 (Savard?), and a #8), and 4 forwards ( including a top 6 winger, a 2/3C).

But if Anderson, Toffoli, Caufield, Drouin, and Gallagher are on the top 3 lines, that leaves 3 spots for 4 guys to fill out the remaining 3 wing spots in the top 12: Armia, Byron, Lehkonen, and Perry. Will one of them be the 13th forward, or will one of Lehk, Byron, or Perry not be back?

One thing's for sure, if we want to land any big fish, we'll have to send Drouin and or Byron to Arizona with picks attached.

So looks like

Drouin - Suzuki - Caufield
Toffoli - KK - Gally
Anderson - Xxxxx - Armia
Lehkonen - Evans - Byron
Paquette

where's Perry going to fit?

Maybe it's:

Drouin/Anderson - Suzuki - Caufield
Toffoli - KK - Gally
Lehkonen - Evans - Byron
Drouin/Anderson - Paquette - Armia
