Go Habs Go!

Win or lose, Go Habs Go!

But lose because with my co-worker I just put a gamble of 100$ that's Habs will not make the playoffs. So Slaf put points and still Habs L and i'm happy to have get money by the end of the season!!
Can I get some of that action. I have some annuities I'm willing to wager. :sarcasm:

I think its nice to see steady progression in the team year by year thats not coming from adding a bunch of 30+ vets and barely making it. This year there's just no way we make the playoffs barring a huge outlier coming into play. But I do want us to stay as competitive as possible for as long as possible. Then next season do the same, and hope to see more progression, then the following one you aim to actually make it. just my two cents

I agree. But that should not come at the cost of managing the team poorly. KH should maximize his assets. No reason to give players for nothing just to free a spot. Also if a can't refuse offer is made for a vet who will be 30+ next season the offer should be accepted.

Yeah I think we're generally a young team and even the vets are pretty young. So KH has time to be patient. I think we'll see more movement as young players cement their spot. We've seen it more on the blueline than the forwards in Guhle, Struble, Barron, etc but hopefully Heineman, Roy, Beck etc all force out players who are still worth something

We aren't making the playoffs so get that out of your head. I'll be pleased if we show we can maintain .500 until TDL and then we take a dump.
I'm thinking it may take more than the 92 points it did last season in our conference.
I was actually thinking it would be about the same amount of points as last season, since there are too many teams fighting over the 2nd wildcard and they are on pace for 90-94 points.

But unless the Habs start putting together more than 2 wins followed by 2 loses, they aren't making the playoffs.

That would be the most negative thing you've ever said/ done towards the team, lol

But it was the right move...

I have faith it won't. Then again there isn't a whole heck of a lot of veteran value left on this club.

No but between losing a vet for nothing and getting a 3rd round pick i'd go with getting a 3rd round pick at the deadline when it's clear a better offer wont be made. What KH could do is get 3rd round pick or 2nd round pick in the future. Like a 2rd round pick in 2026. This way if we are ready to win in 2026 we will have this 2nd round pick to give at the deadline in 2026 while still keeping a good draft power in 2026.

The coin of the realm.
The only consideration for me would be a veteran clearly holding back a kid who would be much better served getting reps at this level.
This with the understanding that the player in question will be much better prepared for the following season when we start to push.
I mean Armia went on waivers it's possible something similar happens next year in the right circumstances.

Why are there so many 3-4 gaps between games and then having to play 3 games in 4 nights? Surely the NHL could have done a better job with its scheduling.
