100% agree about the power play. We need to reassess who brings what to the table and structure our PP based on chemistry and variety of skillsets. Gio/ryder on the same wave is redundant for example

Yup. We need someone with better puck retrieval skills than Gio in a MUST score situation. Gio isn't horrible, but IMO Eller is better and his puck control is awesome.

Is Gorges the right or left D on the PP? Either way, even if it's the right side, please put Emelin in. I do not understand how Gorges is more useful except for just dumping it back into a sea of players once our fwds work their ***** off to poke the puck back to him. I actually don't mind Boullion on the PP at all. He can handle the puck, make good passes, not be predictable and can shoot if necessary. Him and Emelin would make a nice pair. Or that Diaz guy who went missing. (insert gif of him cocking his head while takin a drink)

There's a difference between going all in and adding a depth player.

I'm not opposed to adding a depth player--Bergevin might even end up getting another one before the deadline--but that's not what I had in mind when I wrote the post. I'm just glad we didn't end up trading for Clowe, Jagr, etc. The best has yet to come for this core, and when it does, we can make our move to really improve the roster.

I wanted clowe tbh. But even if we did trade for one of them, we don't know if it would pay off. We made the safe choice and im happy we did the more I think about it.

TSN.ca trolled me bigtime with the pic of bergy on their home page....it appeared before the title did and I thought we had done something massive.

I want Kobasew from the Avs, so we can make the "Chuckies line".

Kobasew would be the perfect fit to replace (and be an upgrade on) the injured Armstrong.

Well I woke up 2 hours ago and can't get back to sleep (4:15AM here) so I guess I'm just staying up..

Hopefully we'll make atleast one decent sized move. I wouldn't mind a guy like Pominville personally. Or a top 4 D if we don't feel the need to upgrade our offense.

An easy pick up could be Adam Hall on waivers to help replace Armstrong if he is out long term. White can help there and Prust may end up 4th line once Bourque returns.

Getting Bourque back soon is just going to be like acquiring a big gritty forward who can score at the deadline, except it's gonna be for nothing.

DD2 was a good depth move by Bergevin, we needed a 6th D. I don't expect him to do anything tomorrow. However, anything can happen so I could very well be wrong.

Define gritty.

Why are so many people forgetting about Diaz? We were in need of a depth defenseman but unless I,ve missed something and that he won't be back for the playoffs, we don't need another defenseman. Drewiske was just what we needed.

I remember the year Huet got traded, I got the TSN text before anyone in my class knew about it, I actually got up and announced the trade during class.

This is interesting:

@Dave_Stubbs: Since 1980, there have been 459 NHL trades made on deadline day. #Habs have been involved in 17 of them. Name them.

I can't believe they've been on the air since 6. I mean NOTHING happens till 11 anyway.

I would show up for work if i was getting paid, and knew nothin was happening for atleast 5hrs...easy money;);)

Commercials=money, and today commercial air time cost a little more......so earlier start, the better.
