Yeah right, NYR got a crazy return for an underperforming player on a large contract.

He might be underperforming, but the amount of guys that topped 40 goals a few times is fairly short.

Great deal for CBJ, only a very good prospect and some middling roster players for an elite player. What a joke.

lol people don't understand CBJ is DESPERATE to win. Good for them if Gaborik pans out and performs and produces on the score-sheet. Still reeks of desperation, and happy MTL is staying cool. Trade-deadline is there for desperate teams and teams who have spare assets to overpay. MTL has neither.

Things finally starting to get exciting. I really don't see the Bishop/Conacher trade as lopsided as some do. Maybe it's because I'm a huge fan of Bishop.

Also, I think that Gaborik will be a good fit in Columbus, I have a feeling he's going to reignite his career there.

I agree - management should spend three more years watching career ending injuries by goonery to decide what we're lacking. Let's get some ex-special forces on this s@@@

Yes, name 1 career ending injury. And the IQ takes another dive...

I thought you were not allowed to trade a player on the IR (in regards to Dorsett).

People saying the Rags won that deal need to give their head a shake.

Dorsett is out for the year
Moore is looking more and more like a bust, being passed up in the depth chart by Savard
And Brassard is a very erratic offensive player

Meanwhile, the Jackets get an important piece they didn't have; a renowned, proven, elite goal scorer.

I love it for CBJ

I ain't even mad if we don't do any trade.
It's not like we're in a rush.
We've got a great young core who has a lot to learn yet.
I'd rather we become the next franchise who will be at the top for a long time with plenty of good prospects than a one time shot.

So basically

Nash , Brassard , Dorsett , Moore + 3rd + 6th

for

Gaborik , Dubinsky , Anisimov , Erixon + 1st

Yes... but Pomy is a first line winger.

And Johan Larsson has first line potential, Matt Hackett has starting goalie potential. Buffalo ahd no need for Pominville right now and their rebuilding plan will like take a couple of years. Great deal for Buffalo.
