Romanov is the second best Damn in NewYork. He has a bigger impact on a game than Dach will ever. It is a Lost trade. With Romanov right now, our defence would be much much better.

We still need a good offensive center man.
Romanov has been injured this season and only has 2 points in 14 games. He's a LD so where would he fit in our lineup? The Book isn't written yet on Dach and he's still very young. He's possibly a bit reluctant from his knee injury and needs more time. He's a big guy sometimes it takes longer for big guys. He's shown flashes of brilliance, we should be patient with him. There's no rush, we are in a tank year.

Because your point of view doesn’t make sense otherwise lol, unless you’re complaining to complain. That is of course my opinion.

I'm not even bitching about Dach or the kids, I'm complaining about the lack of support and awful coaching decisions. I'm worried about Slaf, I'm not calling him a bust (yet). But the awful play of some of the vets is the real issue and the lack of accountability from the top down.

The team has no structure 90% of the time and the defense is lost. You can't rebuild without some reliable coaching and I don't even want Demidov here unless they bolster things up. I still wish we drafted Leonard/Michkov , I'd rather rebuild with a skilled forward core and sign some D to help out. It takes too long to develop D, you need way better blueline than what we have now if Reinbacher is going to make a difference at some point.

I would also love to see them sign another tough player to help out with the heavy lifting.

Our top prospects are 2-3 years away from making a difference , we can't just continue on this rebuild like this. Coaching is a priority

I won't lie when Habs drafted Rein, Hughes didn't seem to have that real genuine excitement he had with his other top picks in Slaf and Demidov. Just a vibe Check but felt off. Then you had price butchering his name, then the shit show in Switzerland, and then finally the season ending injury.

Lots of bad juju I just hope he's actually a beast and god just testing him to see how much he can take. He needs to watch Rocky on repeat

Dach was injured, Newhook regressed, big f***ing whoop.
All of Dach, Newhook, Matheson, and Barron have regressed from their previous NHL performances.

Big whoop, let’s move on.
We are in a rebuild, and our key pieces aren’t playing. How you can judge at the moment is incomprehensible, but you did spend most of Slafkovsky’s first two seasons calling him a bust.
I can judge at any moment. This isn’t a retirement portfolio, we have a crappy boring team that doesn’t show up to play half the time and the GM who’s been assembling it has acquired players who have already fallen off their already low peaks. I’m judging and watching and judging and commenting.

Slafkovsky didn’t play well in his first season and I wanted him sent to an easier division. He got his knee busted and lost half the season. He didn’t play well in his second season, I wanted the same thing, but ti their credit he stuck with it until after New Year and he roared awake. I praised him. This season he’s sluggish again — perhaps he really was rushed to the NHL. We’ll never know.

What I do know: I don’t trust HuGo’s judgement as much right now as I did over summer when it looked like the team he had put together would continue to show progress. The team has regressed, so my judgement of HuGo has been adjusted accordingly.

He needs to do whatever the fk is the opposite of what Dach did.

Lol it really has been a little chaotic with Reinbacher every step of the way so far. You also had a certain part of the fanbase ripping him apart after the draft because they were upset about Michkov. I feel bad for the kid. The saving grace is he’s still only 20 years old.

I thought Barron came with a 2nd rounder, and we used LA's pick???
This was bugging me. Couldn’t figure out how I came up with it being the Hage pick.

We used the 2nd from Colorado and our own first to move up to take Hage. So - yes the Lekhonen deal helped get us Hage as well.

Apparently he regressed though
From last year yes. Not from his time with the Pens and Panthers. The pens got him for an almost retired Hornqvist who was on a bad contract. That contract became a problem for Florida. We got him for a rapidly declining Petry on a bad contract. That contract became a problem for the Pens. That should tell you everything you have to know about Matheson's value in the mind of NHL GMs.

A problem is a very very generous way of looking at it, he isn’t even expensive. Petry was even worse!

Also him regressing from last year is a huge stretch.

Players he acquired have already fallen off their low peaks?

Lol, like who? The four you mention are stopgap players, other than Dach who again has a particular injury situation you apparently blame Kent Hughes for. I don’t think you’re capable of understanding what a rebuild is.

It isn’t hard to understand where the issues can arise. Hughes spent assets and/or opportunity cost and these players he acquired are all falling flat or worse.

It raises the question of his scouting judgement and the unproven hockey ops team he’s put together.

Alex Newhook? On pace for 17pts this year. Why did we spend a those valuable picks on a former client of his…?

If this isn’t your concern that’s fine. Everybody has different preferences and observations.
I don’t think you’re capable of understanding what a rebuild is.
What’s the point of these comments?

Do you think others are too simple to take insult or do you mean to insult?

Why can’t you stick to talking hockey without taking shots at other posters and fans? Our takes are enough to flame each other over, stick to that.

Ceremony was too long and was surprised to see so many Montreal jerseys at the game from where we were watching from. I'd be way too embarrassed to wear one and it would not have been safe to do so many years ago. Now it's just another game with no intensity or rivalry.
