Can’t believe the ref who was so close to the play, fell for that.

Where’s the embellishment call?

You can sh*t on anyone but choose to do it on one of the best player on the team.

That's probably his fault Anderson didn't score on the breakaway he sent him on.
Of course it is : Everybody knows Anderson can’t shoot :D

More seriously though, I really hope Dach works on his shot, that‘s the thing he misses.

I really don't understand this forum.

Almost everybody wanted at the start of this season to finish at the bottom of the standings so we could fail hard for Bedard. Yet I see all this moaning and bitching about how bad the Habs played. What did everyone think? We would win 75 of the 82 games and Bettman would award us the first overall draft pick because Montreal is a French city and French is sexy.

You either want the Habs to finish at the bottom of the standings or you don't. If they're to finish at the bottom that means they play like a bottom feeder NOT like a playoff team.

Besides, you all came on this forum and made dire predictions about how badly the Habs would be this year. So these Habs should not be a surprise to anyone. Apparently, everyone is surprised and upset.

Cognitive dissonance, anyone?
I think it is not cognitive dissonance by any means.

We all knew they would be bad, but actually the defense has been better than expected but the offense is putrid, which is why the forward vets are taking heat on this forum. Also there was hope to turn those vets into assets at TDL, and this hope is fading quickly ;)

I remember being so confused watching the play. Clear 2 on 1 and instead of going to the net and being a threat, Hoffman backed off and led to a easy read for Fleury.

My assessment of the players after 7 games :

Building blocks for the future
- Suzuki
- Caufield
- Slafkovsky
- Guhle
- Harris
- Xhekaj
- Dach (not convinced yet but we need to give him time)

Useful parts for the rebuild (no rush in trading them, unless we get a good offer)
- Anderson
- Monahan
- Gallagher (he's untradeable anyway and sets a good example for the youth)
- Savard
- Edmundson
- Pezzetta
- Allen

Easily replaceable spare parts
- Pitlick
- Evans
- Kovacevic
- Montembeault (but goaltenders takes time to develop so we can give him time)

Gone as soon as we find better
- Dvorak
- Wideman

Better move on ASAP
- Hoffman
- Drouin
- Dadonov
- Armia

Too early to tell
- Matheson

Yeah, he goes near the net for taps in but need to shoot more. He has a pretty good backhand shot he didn’t have the chance to use yet though.

He sets a bad example, imo. And he's beyond useless.

Bergevin gave a 1st rounder for Dvorak...
Dvorak has looked like he doesn’t want to be here from the very beginning. Don’t think he had playing in a big market in mind when he signed a long term deal with Arizona. Looks like he would’ve preferred to float in the comfort of the sun until the end of his contract. I’d just flip him for whatever he’s worth and take a loss at this point. We really don’t need him.

Reminded me off Capitals game. Lots of sloppy hockey. Turnovers, poor passes, too many long passes for me. In our own end I like those short d-d passes then out. Kovacevic with major turnover for winning goal, rookie. Veterans were inconsistent and rookies. Caufield and Suzuki played well. Allen was solid in net. Dach meh, he has underperfored. Wild always own us. Good game for Bedard

Remember when we all thought that we were out of the running for first overall pick in the next draft?

Me neither.
I mean we won the opener against Toronto and I told everyone I called it in the summer. We’re a much better team this year. I said so in the summer so it must be true. :sarcasm:
