I thought Habs played well enough to win. Were the better team... but the Flames goalie was lights out. Good game

You'd think the hardcore tankers would be happy with this game? Best case scenario... Playing well, generating quality chances, beat by a hot goalie and some snake bitten hands.

What more could a tank commander want?

Suzuki played great. Too bad his wingers suck. Newhook isn't a top line guy more top 9. He needs to be further down the lineup.

Not sure what to do with Anderson. He seems to only play really well with RHP yet MSL doesn't seem to want to go back to that pairing. Andy bring your shots down dude. Aim for low corner you'll probably end up going high glove.

Great game by Slafkovsky. He should have had a multi-point game tonight, but Caufield wasn't having it. Lots of shots by CC & lots of big saves by Markstrom.

Markstrom won it for Flames. He made some big time saves. Inability to finish is going to kill Montreal this year.

Nah its cole alone. Hes not himself, at all. He had 4 sure goals tonight and like 7 legit chances. A goal scorer of his level cannot miss all those opportunities. He needs to wake the f*** up.
He shouldn't change a thing. Season high in shots. Great game. But he and Nick need to sync up because those passes keep going in his skates. It consistently happens on the PP.

Credit to Markstrom, he robbed the Habs quite a few times tonight.

Also, I don't know if it's Caufield that's slightly out of position or if the guys miss their passes to him, but every time someone is setting him up on the PP, the pass is in his skates or off target.
Caufield's body is in the lane not his stick. The one time his stick was in the lane his skates were behind the red line.
The net was wide open but what a sliver of an angle. Suzuki could easily have had three points that game if the recipients could bury it. Not surprising we seem to struggle against Big Goaltenders and end up trying to be too precise. I know we like to go high on Markstrom but the better placement against him would be above the pad and below the glove at least there would be more rebound opportunities.

Btw, Slaf with another great game. Why they moved him down is beyond me. I sincerely hope they put things back next match.

I don't care if we lose the next ten games in a row. Development of our younger players is what matters right now. They need to stop f***ing around with him.

I hope Levshunov or Dickinson are available when we draft. Both are good defensemen!! We don't need more scoring, we have amazing forward prospects. Mysak, Ylonen, Gordin, Kidney, Beck, Mesar, Biondi, Roy, Heineman etc. These are all elite prospects and with depth like that, who needs more forwards??

Cole, if he is to be a star, needs to be better.

He got 4 sure goals that game. For a guy that has such an accurate shot, its just inexcusable.

Suzuki gave him 3 sure goals, Dvorak one.
Anderson's influence is clearly imprinting on him

Seriously! We are a building team and they played well. So the tankers should be happy with that... and the non-tankers should be happy too. But... this is Montreal. Can't do happy.

You can easlify flip that around... the passer can see where he is and adjust. It shouldn't consistently go into his skates no matter what his position is. Slaf has been fine at getting him clean passes so I don't know why Nick can't.

Most of the problem comes on the PP. Maybe we're being pressured, I don't know but they have to work on it.

I'd be happier if it was a 5-4 loss.

Seriously frustrating how Markstrom consistently robbed us tonight.

Blaming Suzuki in one of the best games Ive ever seen him play is a bold move.

Yeah Nick threads his passes tape to tape to everyone but Caufield.

I can't remember the last clean cross over pass he has received

Markstrom was the best player on the ice tonight. It happens. I thought Montreals puck support wasn't great tonight and they didn't attack the center of to ice in the offensive zone enough. How does that song go? Around the outside, around the outside?
