St Louis still has no clue or balls to make in game adjustments. After the first it was clear that team is playing like shit and that goalie isn't going to win you this one. So shake things up. Switch the goalie. It's not a knock on MOntanbo even though the second goal was beyond horrendous. Take Hutson off PP since he can't shoot and nobody else doing SFA. Like do f***ing something!

An ok game: Dach, Armia, Evans, Carrier, Anderson (when on Armia line)
Bad game: Arbs, Savard, Laine, Newhook, Gallagher, Dvorak,
Horrendous game: Montanbo (i don't give a f*** how many great saves he makes if he can't make beer league ones), Hutson, Matheson, Slafkovsky, Suzuki, Caufield. Coach.

Team is treading in a bad direction again. Out of last 3 games, the team played 3 good periods. 1st vs leafs, 2nd and 3rd vs Tampa and none tonight. That's 30% of your game. Say bye-bye to WC chase if this continues for another 2-3 games.

Yea they keep coming from behind because they basically play bad and are dominated for two periods.

Whole team was trash tonight but the #1 goalie should be Dobes moving forward. Montembeault is inconsistent and nothing special.

The Monty love fest circle jerk was embarrasing to watch on l'Antichambre tonight, guy played like garbage stop acting like he's an untouchable who's part of this team's future.

2 losses in the last 3 and the win was a comeback game. I can see some bad habits creeping back in and there needs to be some serious corrections before a potential losing streak takes hold. Heineman is certainly missed as well.
It's 2 losses in the last 4 not 3. All our recent wins are comebacks. This is worrisome and tiresome for the players and fans.

Monty let in two bad goals but still kept the team in. Unfortunately it wasn't the best game for Hutson, and that hurt the offense. The team is still ways away from competing, but this is a minor setback in what's turned into a very fun season. Hope they get back on track this weekend.

We'll have to get used to this. This is what to expect with 6-7 mediocre teams jockeying for the wild card spots. Hold on, there's going to be ups and downs till the end.

Wow the over reactions .
The team has had a horrendous schedule , comes from long road trip only to have to fly to Washington . Then now Detroit .
Anyone wat hi g the game would have realized we dominated most of those games , even the one we lost 7-3.
So cut the team some slack .
When you are tried you make exactly the types of mistake they made tonight and you look slow early on .
Still I found they battled and stayed in game.
To me we turn the page . Next

Shows how important Hutson is. This game and vs the leafs he has an off game and we lose.

Our teams revolves around Lane
They lost to crap twice because Laine missed all but 1 period of those 2 games. They lost to Toronto because they had no idea what to do when they got a big lead. This game everyone was bad.

We gave them 15 shots, none of them were really good quality, but they were up 2-0.
Ah okay. It looked like you were saying the first period was an anomaly. They ended up with 45 shots total, so that's pretty much 15 per period.

Monty sucked and they didn't lose because of shot count but still, that's too many

Anyone know what was up with pulling PP1 off very early from the powerplay? Same thing at the end of the game 6-on-5.

Detroit very clearly took Laine out there. Powerplay needs to figure out something out of it.

He is out of gas. Has been for the past games. Same for several players it seems.

He's a top 50 goalie in the league. I'm not sure that's really enough going forward. You'd definitely want a guy that's .910 rather than sub- .900 on save percentage.

Based on his overall record, he strikes to me as a guy whose ceiling is to be a solid back-up goalie for a contender.

He faced 80 shots in two games with his Team scoring 5 goals, how many goalies give you both wins ?
I would have gone with Dobes because for Monty is rather a 1A in a 1A-1B Rotation (likely should be a 1B but Dobes is still a Rookie) and in that System you play your 1B when you have a Game every two nights

Lots to be upset about tonight's game, but I think when you play a guy like pezz instead of proper call up the whole team suffers. It's a domino effect of not putting the team in the best position to succeed. We weren't prepared for the wings intensity and once we got anything going we were already down multiple goals.

I know it's nice to see the team be able to stay in games and come back and win, but these poor starts will bite us in the ass

I'm not just talking about these 2 games but his career overall. Winning a cup usually requires a stronger performance from the goalie than what Monty has been able to offer so far. During his 8 years in the NHL, he has pretty much been smack in the middle average.

He's by no means a bad goalie, but thus far he hasn't really been able to find that 2nd gear that you'd need in order to help the team win a cup.
