Post-Game Talk: Habs lose to Detroit in embarrassing fashion.

Slaf, Caufield, Suzuki were not terrible, just not really impactful tonight. Terrible in my book is many bad plays or bad handling.
They were terrible don't kid yourself they were owned from the first minute to the last minute they sucked on the PP and they sucked when we pulled the goaltender. Marty going with Newhook and Dach for 2:30 of the 3:30 of 6v5 time tells the story.

Your assessment of players is wholly detached from reality.
Think it's pretty good. You can look at my history on here, I've called out so many and have been heckeled for it, but ultimately have practically always been right about them.

Another ridiculous post. He is here at least until Fowler is ready to play.
We wasting 3-4 more years of our core? Seriously? lol

Yeah, he gives us a shooter on that 2nd unit. Dach can hit him for the one-timer, too.

Dach, Matheson, Heineman are OK on 2nd unit. It's Dvorak & Gallagher that are the problems. With Heiney out, there's no one on that unit with a shot.
I have loved Gally over the years but its pretty clear to me that his body cant keep up at this level anymore. I would much rather give time on the powerplay to Evans than Dvo at this point.

Considering Montembeault's sterling record over the last three years and consistently above-average performances by the majority of advanced metrics when placed in proper context, your assessment that he's an AHL goaltender, especially when we take a look at the myriad crises other teams have faced in that regard, hasn't legs, knees, or hips to stand on.

3-4 yrs would be optimistic for goalie Fowlers age that you would feel comfortable leading you in the playoff

Goalies are voodoo though

Naw, we just need to move him.

Monty has always been the stop gap to Dobes & Fowler taking over. We're not trading him right now. He battles hard. Team likes him.

I mean he's not even in the top 25 for salaries for goalies in the NHL. He's 30th.

Boston's back-up Korpisalo makes $4m, and he truly sucks. Georgiev & Fedotov make more money and they're truly atrocious.

We're paying him $3.15m. He's a work horse, but right now, he's struggling a bit.

Sterling what?

Those numbers are sterling? The median save% last season was .903 (18 year low)...

His stats have always been average at best, and his inconsistency is the only consistency he provides.

That's fine, I'm not worried about other teams.
I'm only stating what we need to improve on.

Terrible game by ;
Suzuki
Slaf
Caufield
Hutson
Matheson
Anderson
Gallagher
Dvorak
Pezzetta
Montembault
Newhook
St-Louis.

Monty's 2 free goal ends up being the difference
Newhook played well and brought energy lumping him with that group is not a fair assessment IMO.
Our D were also slow to move the puck which didn't help at all.

True.
But I am never really confident when he is in net. Seems to have difficulty putting 2 good performances in a row lately. He is not making those key saves on critical times...

Relax man.
I only watched the last 7 minutes but from the highlights he only looked real bad on the 4th goal. He made 41 saves tonight. At one point you gotta blame the D for conceding that many shots to the freaking Wings.

In the 7 minutes I watched I thought we lacked intensity and energy.

Were there any details released about the traffic incident involving Heineman? The team is really missing him and Pezz being an inadequate replacement is hurting the team. I would like it if they called up another player to play with Evans and Armia.
I don't think so, it could be because the suspect could be facing criminal charges.
