Its really actually a tough call

Goal 1 was just a little flick of
A shot he wasnt ready for

Goal 2 he just guess all wrong. Like usual

Goal 4 well, what can you say
Goal 4 Matheson went down allowing Larking to walk right in. Monty made the initial save and Larkin made a nifty play to sneak the rebound under Monty's arm. I don't really blame Monty on the rebound. You can't leave Larkin all alone in the crease. He may get a good bounce.

Team had no chance of winning this game with the goals the goalie let in.

Yes the team sucked, but you aren't coming back from 2 down constantly when you're letting in ECHL shots.
Shitty shots go in sometimes, especially when you're getting outshot so severely.

And that's still false. We could have easily won this game even still. We had plenty of chances.

You've just clearly got your scapegoats. I get it.

The team we saw tonight is the norm, not the team we saw in the past month and a half.

Letting in 4 shitty goals deflates everyone, sorry.

Shitty shots go in TOO often on this AHL goalie.

All the recent wins road trips emotions etc. caught up with our top players.
Hutson and Suzuki were terrible Matheson was terrible Caufield not burying his chances lately.
Slaf was okay but he still needs polishing. Armia Dach Laine Newhook were very good.
Evans gave the puck away far too often trying to find the point men and the lads were not jumping into open areas we got leaned on and it showed. Seider Larkin Raymond controlled the game from start to finish. No way to pull points from that game unless Montembault was perfect they really could have had 6 or 7 in this one.
Pretty good assessment.

Yes goalies face shots

More news at 11am

It should have been stopped. Simple

I looked at the goals and Monty looked bad on the 4th goal but man conceding 45 shots to the Wings is ridiculous D.

I guess they need me to watch all the games. When I skip one they pretty much always lose badly.

No one played that good of a game, although the Dach line showed some life in 2nd period.

Team had no legs. Detroit attacked the net well and defended well.

Montembeault was under a constant barrage of shots & traffic.

We didn't deserve this one. For Detroit, this was a must win game. If they went back 7 pts, they're basically out.

We need to get back to playing the tight checking game that won us games against the best in the league. This was not it.
It starts with the skating when we don't have that we are cooked. A tired team bad passing hard to generate speed. We got out boarded out skated out hit and out scored. PP1 was pure shit and lost us momentum at key times.

Well you know they can't win them all and I will say this...Dobes gets the next start and if he wins....

Monty has to be better and has become entirely too inconsistent. Habs need 12 competent forwards.
Naw, we just need to move him.

Didn't look like a playoff team tonight.
1st time since oct 22, we gave up 40+ shots.
Monty needed to steal a game again, but the team was very lacklustre.
Flipping between, all three eastern playoff games and the habs size still worries me.
There's a reason Dach thrived tonight while Caufield and Suzuki were invisible getting checked to death by a bigger Detroit forward group and certainly Dcorps.
That's why it would've been key if Slafkovsky wasn't invisible; he's essential in games like this.
Also can't wait to get Matheson away from Hutson.
He's one of a few habs in the D-zone who completely panics vs an aggressive forecheck.
They've been playing well but Carrier and hutson, imo, need to be insulated by a very big group - xhekaj, reinbacher, mailloux, guhle - is big enough to give these two room.
Savard is cooked and matheson, just ooof.
Anyway can't win 'em all. Team needs to amp up their desire more if they want to win.
I get why St Louis was using the bottom 6 in offensive moments, the top guys were doing very little to score dirty goals as Detroit collapsed in front of Talbot.
Boston was doing the same and won a very, very ugly game 2-0

The Pez experiment is just stupid, playing a guy under 5 minutes makes zero sense. They need to call up someone that they can trust that plays a regular shift while Emil is out.

Cant wait for Emil to get back he was actually pretty good on the second unit.

Yeah, he gives us a shooter on that 2nd unit. Dach can hit him for the one-timer, too.

Dach, Matheson, Heineman are OK on 2nd unit. It's Dvorak & Gallagher that are the problems. With Heiney out, there's no one on that unit with a shot.

Not yet...solid stop gap

Heineman is missed more than many think
